Topazsky looked at the kits. "He was once Lunarstar, leader of this clan, until we thought he was dead. When he returned he decided to retire and become an elder. Lunarrain was a very important cat. May StarClan guide his pawsteps to Silverpelt."

Crowkit scoffed at Tpoazsky.

Icekit looked up from playing, "Why did he retire? Didn't he want to be leader?"

Berrysong padded out of the warrior's den. She pressed her nose into Lunarrain's fur.

Topazsky shook his head. "He did, but he was old, Icekit. And Skystar had gotten his nine lives. StarClan, I think, believed he was dead because they couldn't see him. Perhaps thats why they gave Skystar his nine lives. Either way, Lunarrain didn't want to take the leadership away from his old deputy, and move Skystar back down to Deputy and Windrunner back down to a Sr. Warrior, It wouldn't be fair to either of them."
The gold tom stretched, his one good eye looking at the kit. "SO he decided to retire. And now... Now he's huntning with StarClan."

Onyxclaw walked out out of the warriors' den and rested his tail on Berrysong;s shoulder for comfort, murmuring something to his old leader.
