Brightfire simply shrugged as she heard the others casting votes to abstain. "Think about it. Why else would a warrior throw their own family under. It would only be to save thier OWN skin, in my opinion." She said in a serious tone. "If we all keep abstaining, who knows who's next? We need to do something "

Maplefang padded up to Brightfire, joints a bit sore but generally still light on his paws. "I can't bear to accuse any cat of such a terrible thing when I have no solid proof," he rumbled. "I won't take action until I'm sure where my paws are falling. I can't-" his voice cracked and he glanced away, blinking tears back. He was one of the oldest in the Clan; he'd watched all these cats grow and learn, and he couldn't bear to lose them. "I can't feel like I've done something right by narrowing it down if the only thing I've done is exile a Clan member that could very well be innocent."

adderfur turned to his brother, the only cat he had known his whole life, and limped over to him, his joints faultier and weaker. "maplefang." he mewed, slowly reaching him. "don't waste your strength on it. this...this is my kin." he coughed. "sparrowdusk is my kit's kit, budgiepaw and amberpaw were his kits, and that made them my kin. i would've hoped the evils stayed away from them, but look what happened. i don't have much evidence either, but i feel i must blame something." cough.
