THE KILL wrote: It had been three days since Harrierheart’s exile from the clan, and nothing seemed amiss. There’d been no more kills, no more exiles, no more wondering who was going to die next. The only thing that seemed strange was the dark shadows lurking around camp, watching. But no one had noticed those. It whispered in the ears of the killer, giving them ideas that they loathed. But they had a target.
Daisyshine was the only queen in Thunderclan at the moment and the shadows had set their eyes on her. The murderer wasn’t so sure. They caught them out on a stroll anyways.
“Oh, good evening!” Daisyshine purred to them as they strolled up. “Lovely time for a walk.”
“It is a lovely time for a walk.” The murderer purred back, tail twitching worriedly. They knew what came next. “Where’s Robinkit?”
Daisyshine paused, looking back in the direction of camp. “I left Robinkit with Wigeonpaw, in camp! You were there when I left, silly.”
Daisyshine was right, of course. They had been there, but they dreaded what was next. The shadows gathering in the trees grew impatient, and the killer could sense their anger. ’Soft! Soft!’ They hissed in their ear. They shook their head, yowling.
Daisyshine stumbled, fearful, “Are you okay?”
“N-no. You must run!” The killer cried, shaking their head back and forth.
But it didn’t matter. The shadows had taken them over, and their head snapped up with an angry yowl. Daisyshine bolted as the killer ran on strong legs after her, closing the distance quickly.
Daisyshine skidded to a halt as she came up on twolegplace, a huge fence rising up to stop her. Her eyes widened. Beyond the fence, she could hear loud barking and snarling. She had to choose. Maybe her killer would stop if they couldn’t hurt her themself. She pounced, her claws raking the fence as she struggled to climb. She heaved a sigh as she pulled herself up, balancing precariously on top of it. Her gaze was fearful as the killer stopped at the bottom of it, looking up at her.
“I’ll tell everycat!” She yowled, eyes bouncing between the killer and the beasts that were trying to launch themselves up to her on the other side.
The killer shook their head, grinning. “You won’t get the chance.”
They pounced as hard as they could, slamming directly into Daisyshine, sending her tumbling into the territory of the slobbering beasts below her. Their paws just barely got ahold of the fence before they fell in after her, claws dig tightly as possible.
They shook their head once more, eyes watery but able to see the shadows dissolve as they slunk away. They looked down below them and yowled, scrambling up and over the fence to safety.
They trudged back to Thunderclan, slipping quietly back into camp.
Bye-bye, Daisyshine. There went the one guard Thunderclan had.
