Bubblefur gave a soft chuckle, looking down at the young feline that seemed so eager. What she said caught him off guard a little and he couldn't help but give an adorable laugh to the small kit. "Aw, you sweet little lemon. I'm not a medicine cat, I'm the deputy, remember? It's okay though, you don't have to make me your favorite, I'll still give you a piggyback ride." The young cat said, crouching down so the kit could climb onto his back. "Hop on! Your steed is waiting, young princess."

Whitekit squealed with joy at the tremendous piggy back ride she
was experiencing. She tripped onto Bubbeflur’s pelt and googled around.
“Yaaaaayyayay!!! Oh uuuuh!! What’s a lemon and uuuh what’s a princess??”
Whitekit didn’t really care what a lemon was but she DID
want to know what she was being called.

He hissed slightly at the squirming of the kit on his back as he kept his calm. "Hey, hey, stay still, that tickles! A lemon is like a... yellow plant thing? All I know is they make you sneeze and they're not that good but you're a good lemon! and a princess is like someone treated with royalty, like a leader!" The tom grinned, standing up steadily and slowly, padding out into the clearing. He caught a very very faint hint of blood on the wind and stopped in his tracks. "Whitekit, hold your nose up, can you smell that? Try smelling really really hard." He meowed, turning his head to look back at the white feline on his back.

Whitefeather smiled as she saw Bubblefur playing with the kits. "Is everything okay?" The WindClan she-cat asked the ThunderClan deputy.

Bubblefur nodded with a small smile to the she-cat. "Hi Whitefeather! Yeah, I was just giving Whitekit a piggyback ride. Sadly, I have to cut it short, I can... smell something that's concerning me, no need to join me though, I should be fine. See you in about half an hour, Whitefeather." The tom chimed, carefully putting down the kit from his back. He dashed to the entrance to the camp and halted, turning around. "Actually, if Harrierstar asks, I've gone out to patrol the borders by myself to clear my mind." He meowed quickly, turning back to the entrance and slinking through it.

Once out of view, the tom sniffed the air once more, sensing the blood stronger. His muscles tensed up as he followed the scent, leading through the sandy hollow, following the scent all the way to the tallpines area by the twoleg place. His pawsteps became gentle and shallow, fearing for his life as he neared the scent. What he saw next had his blood run cold and his body practically drops to the floor in disbelief. It couldn't be... Duskpaw laid in front of the tom, almost aggressively pinned on the fence, grotesque indeed. He retches softly but stays strong, lifting up the body off of the fence as he dropped it carefully, his eyes filled with tears. "He was a good apprentice, he shouldn't have died like this... He should've died in battle, defending his clan, Windclan..." He softly said, heaving the apprentice's body onto his shoulders as he carefully padded back to camp. About half an hour later, as soon as he got inside the camp entrance and into the center of the camp, he dropped the body carefully to the ground and turned away slightly, yowling out a loud, bellowing cry of heartbreak. "Cats of Thunderclan and Windclan, there has been another murder!"

Firestrike had been mostly asleep, faintly tuning in to Bubblefur speaking to Whitekit but not registering much until they left. The nursery had been a fairly comfortable place, even with the constant stream of cats leaving the clan. It broke his heart every time he heard of another murder or whenever another innocent cat was exiled. He should know, he lost Leopardkit as a result, along with Starlingfeather, the queen who had helped raise his kits after his mate was killed. With that said, the nursery was definitely a comfort, and it had remained mostly calm throughout everything. Eventually he needed to get up and do something productive with the day, he figured, and after giving Cypresskit a lick on the forehead he padded out of the nursery...

...At the perfect time to hear Bubblefur cry out about yet another murder. At the center of the camp laid another body, Duskpaw's he figured, with a massive gash going through his body and his fluffy fur sticking together in clumps from the amount of blood that he had lost. The sight was gruesome, and Firestrike couldn't do anything other that stare in shock for a couple moments. His first instinct was to find Whitekit and try to shield her from the sight by curling his tail around her. His next instinct was just to scream. Both clans had lost every one of their remaining apprentices to some foxhearted traitors, and they had been absolutely helpless to stop it. He had to stop his tail from lashing in order to continue shielding Whitekit, but his thoughts could easily be seen on his face.

They had to put a stop to this. Something had to give, and it sure as hell wasn't going to be their clans. Riverclan was going to pay.

As quickly as everything rose, it also fell for the tom. He wanted to run and hide, to shield himself from the constant terrors but he also wanted to find the wretched killer, to make them pay for all that had been lost to both clans. His eyes flitted up to Firestrike's face and almost instantly his heart broke. The complete torn emotions on the father's face were enough to well tears up in the smaller tom's eyes. Firestrike looked like he was terrified but also just fuming with anger at the same time. It was enough to make Bubblefur drop to the ground in front of the apprentice's body, making him face the terrors as well. He was tortured in a never-ending hell cycle that seemed to doom both clans. He let out a choked sob, his claws sheathing and unsheathing in fury and sadness. At that moment, his whole panic was taking over and his insecurities just rose straight up to the top of his mind. He couldn't care about his duties at the moment, what with all that had happened in the past few days. Clawed to half-blindness, having to retrieve a body by himself because he didn't want anybody knowing what he was doing and now he was just sitting there on the floor, looking absolutely pathetic. Bubblefur didn't want to deal with anything anymore, not now, not ever. He just wanted everything to be over and done with.

Whitefeather nodded as Bubblefur left. Tail flcikimg, she glanced around as the clans started to wake and tried to get Whiteley back in the nursery. Jumping as she heard Bubblefur announce another murder, she groaned. "We really need to stop whoever is doing this," she meowed.
