The Exile wrote:the cold winds that foretold leaf-bare snaked through the
thunderclan territory. it creeped up the spines of the cats it
contained, making their hackles and fur raise. leaf-fall was
ending soon, paving the way for food shortages and sickn-
ess and gelid temperatures.
but the murderer, bearing flames and padding into the fa-
mily's cave, feared not. now, they were within the thunder-
clan camp, maybe looking for their next victim.
a patrol returned, carrying a rabbit and two mice. ivyshade
lead it, telling an apprentice to drop his mice in the fresh
kill pile before he ate one.
cutstripe hurried up to the grey-and-white molly. "palestar
needs you, ivyshade."
she sent a sidelong gaze towards the leader's den, obscur-
ed with bramble tendrils, looking vaguely worried. "okay."
she walked into the den, ducking under some brambles.
one snagged on her white fur for a moment.
palestar looked up from his nest. "hello, ivyshade," he said,
a little hoarsely.
she dipped her head. the deputy, crowflight, sat next to
him, black-and-white tail covering his paws. "while you
were out hunting, we reached a decision." he glanced at
palestar. "we asked a few cats to vote. we really don't want
to make a show of things anymore. exiling one cat is alre-
ady so much."
realization dawned on ivyshade. it was quite like what she
had expected, but her stomach still churned and she was
still shocked. she swallowed, tail and ears drooping.
"we're exiling you from thunderclan. we can't stand to have
murderers in our midst."
no confession came from ivyshade. "it wasn't me! i would
never kill any of my clanmates! you're the real traitors
here. i won't forget this." she turned around and almost
hit the toms with her tail, storming out of the leader's den.
"i'm being exiled!" she yowled once she reached the camp
clearing. "you've exiled an innocent cat, thunderclan!" she
looked at the body of caimantooth for a heartbeat before
sending herself out of the camp, crying before she was
through the entrance.
"ivyshade?" one of the kits mewed in a quiet voice.
ivyshade slowed as she got farther and farther from her
now-former home. she looked back, but her gaze was torn
from that as she heard pawsteps. "hello?"
"hello," the cat replied, walking into a brighter part of the
forest and closer to her.
she visibly relaxed. "oh, it's just you. will you help me? i
don't know what to do."
"oh, sure." the thunderclan cat revealed teeth in a small
grin. the molly didn't catch the malicious intent in them.
"follow me."
ivyshade trotted after her erstwhile clanmate. they led her
to a shadier spot in the general direction of mother's cave.
"here we are," they said, pivoting towards ivyshade. sudde-
nly, they lashed out with outstretched claws, digging them
into the fur of her throat. she had no time to react, instead
making a choking sound as the killer repeated their attack.
she sank to the ground.
the killer swiftly strided towards the cave.
another innocent cat lost, thunderclan! stay vigilant...

The Kill wrote:the killer sat in the family's cave, fire reflecting in their
eyes. the dip in the center was filled with dried branches
and whatever would burn. smoke curled up from it, dissi-
pating in the air and climbing through the hole in the ce-
iling like a meandering flow of water. a line of cats circl-
ed the hearth, dancing. they reared up and hopped about
on two legs. to an outsider it may have looked disorderly,
but when one looked closer they would see how deliberate
their actions were. they seemed to fear little.
"thunderclanner," a voice rumbled to the killer's left. they
didn't need to look to recognize mother. "my, how we've
been quite successful, don't you agree?"
the cat nodded.
"too bad your thunderclan... friends are too loyal to join
me and my higher cause." mother tipped her scarred head
up proudly.
acrid smoke stung the cat's nose. they were starting to get
used to it, but they still had time yet. "who should i kill
next, mother?"
"anyone you feel can go. i have some faith in you."
the cats watched the dancers - flame and feline - for a
while before the thunderclan one meowed, "i need some
fire."
"of course." mother got to her pale paws, that were less
darkened than those of the fire keeper's. she padded for-
ward, flicking a tail that's tip was too burnt to grow fur.
they approached the massive flames. before they got
there, mother took a thick stick in her jaws from a pile.
she thrust it into the fire indomitably. the thunderclan cat
could almost visualize the heat from their post. mother
pulled her head out of the intensity boasting a flame-tip-
ped branch. what looked like a smile formed around it as
she approached the cat. they took the branch, puffing out
their chest fur and bowing their head to their true leader.
they headed out, careful to avoid stray branches and leav-
es with the torch. the nighttime trek felt like it took ages,
but they finally neared thunderclan's camp. after a moment
of pondering, they plunged the torch into the dirt. it was
a while before they felt the branch was secure.
the cat padded towards camp, sending wary glances in
each direction. waspfeather was stationed at the entrance,
sitting casually, eyes ever-so-slightly heavy.
the traitor put on a burst of speed, pretending to pant as
they neared. "waspfeather!" they whispered loudly, skid-
ding to a halt. they hung their head. i went out of camp
to hunt, but i found some weird twoleg thing on our terri-
tory! i need you to see it with me."
waspfeather glanced back at the inside of camp. "um, i'll
see," she said.
"great!" the cat's expression looked relieved. she hadn't
even questioned anything! they led her to the right, to her
doom, about a tree-length.
"what's that?"
"that's the thing," the cat replied. they reached the torch,
waspfeather staying rooted to her spot. the killer looked
between her and the flames with faux confusion.
"it's fire!" she cried, black fur fluffing up in fear. she loo-
ked like she was about to take off, but the killer wrenched
the torch from the ground. waspfeather's eyes widened as
she backed up. it took a few heartbeats before she reali-
zed what was going on. "you!"
thunderclan's scourge nodded, walking with deliberate
steps towards her. she turned tail, but her three legs and
the killer's advantage of already being in motion hindered
her. the killer panted, excitement flooding their senses.
they ran after her, moving their head to ram the torch into
her haunch. she fell over, kicking out with her paws to get
up. but the murderer was already upon her, sticking the
flambeau into her opening mouth.
beware, thunderclan! the killer has claimed another
victim with their flames!
