"Thank you, Flightrunner." Stormstar mewed, grinning at the cat before she burst into another coughing fit, blood spatting from her mouth onto the ground. Her lungs were severely irritated and cracking open on the inside due to the heavy irritation from soot.
"Well, that can't be good." Her voice was reduced to a gravelly rasp once more, her vocal cords being forced to acclimate to the harshness of the toxic ashes in her body.

"Yeah, of course we are, but you're friends with the other apprentices, right?" Duskpaw meowed. He enjoyed having company, but he was starting to feel that Spiderpaw had grown an attachment with him...something that shouldn't be there.

Flightrunner stepped back. "Do you need me to fetch Blizzardfire?" she asked. She knew that coughing up blood was bad, but she didn't think it was from smoke inhalation.

Spiderpaw shook his head."No really. I usually train, but I feel like the others will judge me."he replied, his gazed fixed on his paws. He didn't want to talk about this as he didn't know if he would say anything by accident. If he did then things could go downhill.

Blazetail felt hurt even worse know, that the clan wouldnt even think of taking Nightshade in. Even worse, Stormstar was in horrid condition, Her apprentice couldnt fight or hunt, and Thorntail is dead.

"Okay. I only wanted to know. I'm sorry if I hurt you in any way," Duskpaw meowed, curling his tail around himself, his tail brushing Spiderpaw's fur as it curled.

Sandtail padded towards Blazetail after sitting vigil for Thorntail. "Can you lead a hunting patrol? You can take...any cat except Stormstar or Spiderpaw. I can easily come with you, too, if you'd like."

[Winstalgia]

She looked up, past the deputy, and trained a glare on Blizzardfire. "Fine." She said, turning tail and padding off.

Spiderpaw felt bad about lying, but he couldn't tell the truth. He was a coward, hiding from the truth. "You haven't done anything bad. You've always been a good friend to me."he replied, trying to ignore the tom's tail brushing against his fur.

Blizzardfire just shook his head, but he didn't glare back or make a comment.
