Flightrunner stretched in her nest. She had taken a nap after eating the fish Ravenwing had gotten her. She pressed her forepaws against the air as she stood up.

[Esther~]

Spiderfang padded into the nursery, wanting to see how Flightrunner was doing."You okay?"he asked the she-cat respectfully.

[hummxs]

"I'm fine, thank you, Spiderfang. Do you know where Ravenwing is?" Flightrunner asked, padding up to the young Tom.

[Esther~]

"He went out to check the borders over again. Nightshade was over there so he's trying to make sure he doesn't cross the border."Spiderfang explained

[hummxs]

"Okay. Let me know when he's back, if you'd like to." Flightrunner padded past Spiderfang and sat in the entrance of the nursery, breathing in the fresh air.

[Esther~]

"I'll be sure to get you."Spiderfang promised with a dip of his head. He sat down after a few moments though, seeming a bit hesitant."Whats it like? To have a mate you care about? To know they have your back through it all?"

[hummxs]

Flightrunner was surprised to hear Spiderfang ask her that. "It's very relieving, I guess, that you know that you'll have someone to be there through thick and thin. It's also stressful, because you never know what might happen to the other."

[Esther~]

Spiderfang nodded, looking at his paws. Wasn't that what it was like to just care for another cat? Every time Duskpool left camp he would be stressed, wondering if the medicine cat was okay. It was as if he couldn't be at ease unless he knew the cat was safe."How do you know if they...like you back?"

[hummxs]

"I could tell Ravenwing liked me back by the way he acted around me. He wouldn't say anything about it, honestly, but e would shuffle his paws whenever we talked about something sensitive." Flightrunner purred in amusement as she remembered the time before she and her mate had been as close as they were. "Body language is very important in telling which cat is the correct mate."

[Esther~]

Spiderfang went into thought, wondering if Duskpool had ever been like that. Though when he thought of it he couldn't remember anything, which did upset the tom. For moons he had loved Duskpool, finding it difficult to speak to him. He would get flustered or have issues finding the right words, but he had finally told him. He wished he hadn't. Now it was awkward between the two, all because of Spiderfang."Thanks Flightrunner."
