" the clan of strength "
Located in the canyons, it seems like all odds are against this clan. With blistering hot summers, a high population of predators, and a lack of shade. But Echoclan has remained here for countless moons nonetheless. The clan was given its name when the very first leader, Lionstar, stood at the peak and yowled "this is our home!" It is said that his message echoed for miles upon miles thanks to the powerful echoes. Here, you can see the stars as clear as day, making the cats feel very close to Starclan.
This clan functions differently from most clans, making it very unique. Here, the leader and the deputy are mates, and when the two have kits together, they will pick one of those kits to become the future leader when the current leader dies. The kits who are not picked to become heir will become regular apprentices, but the heir will be trained by their mother and their father in becoming a proper leader. As for the warriors, they are split into three sections- the hunters, the fighters, and the tacticians. Hunters are the warriors who hunt and bring back prey for the clan to eat. These cats are skilled at moving silently, balancing, and have an excellent sense of sight, smell, and hearing. The fighters are the cats who are sent off to deal with any and all threats to their clan, including invading outsiders and natural predators. These cats have excellent skills in battle, and not to forget a passion for the thrill of the fight. Finally, the tacticians. There are much fewer of these compared to the hunters and fighters. When an issue pops up, this class of warrior’s job is to give the leader and deputy advice with how to approach the situation, or when a battle is coming, they plan out attacks. These cats are wise, with a natural knack for leadership and have the ability to keep mellow in stressful situations.
Then there are three medicine cats and three medicine apprentices. Supposedly at one point it was for each class of warrior to have their own individual medicine cat and medicine cat apprentices, but now, they've all combined to serve all of the classes of warriors. In the case that the leader dies without an heir to take their place, the deputy will step down, and one of the tactician warriors will step up, choosing a mate for themselves if they don't already have one.
The kits become apprentices at 6 moons, but aren’t assigned a specific class of warrior to train to become until they are 9 moons, the decision based on how their discovered talents through general training. They aren't given a specific mentor, instead, they're trained by three different warriors from different sections. If they seem to be best at hunting, they will become a hunter. If they seem best at fighting, they will become a fighter. If they seem best at strategizing and leading, they will become a tactician. Queens are allowed to give up their position in the warriors status even after their kits have become apprentices, for the sake of assisting other queens and/or future queens with their kits.
