Nettlemist padded out of the nursery and sat just outside, listening to the meeting. Her kits tumbled out after her, and she gently shushed them

Coldkit and his brother followed Nettlemist. She was like an aunt to them, even though they still had no parents.

In the medicine cat's den, while everybody was at the meeting, Snowpaw's eyes fluttered. Her tail flicked. Her ears twitched. She regained consciousness but was unable to do anything. How did I get here? Is this the medicine cat's den? Why can't I move!? Why do I feel dizzy!? she thought.

Honeypaw lashed her tail."I hope your all happy!"she spat and stormed off

Riverflame noticed she was heading for the forest and bolted off, stopping her. "No! Don't go in there. Dogs... You could die.." He said.

Once almost everyone was gathered around the Highrock, Sunstar began to speak. She knew the cats who hadn't gathered would be able to hear her anyway, with her powerful voice that could carry great distances. She waved her tail for silence, making direct eye contact with Honeypaw before addressing everyone.
"With great regret, I inform you that Snowpaw has been severely attacked," she said and allowed that to sink in.
"The attacker was not a cat, or even a fox. It was a dog."
Cliffclaw jumped onto the Highrock alongside his leader and mother. "We have all heard nursery tales and elders' stories about the dog war, but now we have to face it as reality. When there's one dog, there's bound to be more. They travel in packs and that means they're a danger to our Clan. They murdered Snowpaw, and who knows how much more blood they want?"
"We must take precautions," Sunstar said, waving her tail for Cliffclaw to stand down. "Even if there is no pack, we still must act appropriately. From now on, at least two cats will guard camp at all times -- including during the night. I will take the first night shift. Who will join me?"
