He nodded a bit half-heartedly to Dusklight's comment. It was certainly true that Foxberry was fit for the role, but for some reason he had another cat in mind.... Nevertheless, Riverstar was open to suggestions - even though he was a very gullible cat. He wanted to speak with a few warriors to get a better feel for who he should appoint. For now, though, he just wanted to eat something and then sleep. He decided that he would announce the new deputy tomorrow night. He thanked Mintstripe for the vole and settled himself down to eat it. Just after he finished, he remembered that the border patrol needed to be organized. Riverstar spotted Suntail and approached him. "Hello, Suntail," he greeted pleasantly. "Would you mind leading the border patrol this morning? Be sure to take Emberpatch with you - he doesn't need to be sleeping all day," he chuckled at the last bit.

Now satisfied that her brother was safely back, Dusklight relaxed, looking around at the Clan. She was more of an observer than a talker, so she didn't approach anyone. She found herself looking for her apprentice Cloudpaw, though.

In the warriors' den, Emberpatch was still dozing away. He was quite the sound sleeper and probably wouldn't wake when the other cats stirred. It was common knowledge in the Clan that he was usually one of the last cats to awaken.

Tigerpaw was asleep, like most of the cats at this time, dreaming of stalking a mouse. She licked her lips as she inched closer waiting for the right moment. The mouse took a few steps away, and the tabby lunged at it. However, she woke up just before she could sink her claws into it. She sighed with irritation and closed her eyes in hopes of falling asleep again.
