Alas emerged out of the woods after a successful hunt carrying two rabbits in his jaws. He placed them down in front of everyone. "Breakfast" he mumbled before retreating into his den.

Coyotestar dipped his head. New arrivals were always good for the clan and, as Nightflower was a very large cat, he hoped that her kits would be strong warriors in the future. "I'm going to get some prey for us both, I don't want you moving about too much until the kits come, they might get hurt" He indicated towards her rather large belly. Coyotestar went to the fresh kill pile and picked up a squirrel for the queen and a mouse for himself, before taking them back to Nightflower and giving her her meal.

Squirrelpaw looked at her pile. It was nowhere near the size of her mentor's and she had started first "Hey, not fair! You haven't taught me how to climb trees that well yet," She complained, in awe of Blackfur's abilities.

Fallowstream purred as she saw her apprentice's eagerness.It was going to be hard work training him, as he was so unsteady, but she felt a kind of motherly bond towards the little tom."Do you want to start your training?" She asked, already knowing the answer

Nightflower purred with amusement while she watched the tom leave. She actually enjoyed his worrying because it made her feel as if someone actually cared about her and her unborn kits but she also found it amusing considering that only a short time ago she was on her own gathering her own food and avoiding dangers perfectly fine even with her expectant status. Of course, she much preferred clan living though. It was much safer and leas lonely. "Thank you." She said with another purr once Coyotestar returned before digging into the rabbit.

Bumblepaw quickly nodded, a grin forming on his face. He was plenty ready to train. "What are we going to do?" He asked. He would be fine with whatever she chose to start his training with but he was also curious.

Blackfur - Tags: Squirrelpaw

The deputy smirked. "Here's the trick. The trees that grow around here are great for climbing. Their bark is very squishy, almost sponge-like. Great for hooking your claws into." He flexed his claws in the dirt for extra effect. "But that's only for if you're going slow. Never waste time digging your claws into each branch when you could be going faster. In that case, it's still just as easy. The bark is very rough on the outside, thus it is great for gripping your paws on." He leapt onto a low branch of a nearby tree, and bounced up to a high branch within a few seconds. "But, you'll have to make your legs very strong before things become easy."

Coyote star finished his mouse and sat up, licking his lips. "My pleasure" He knew he was being a bit overprotective of the tall queen, but felt inclined to do so. He was used to looking after the whole clan, but it was nice having another cat to care for closely.

Squirrelpaw copied Blackfur, hooking her claws into the ground. Once she was satisfied that she had seen enough, she leapt straight at the tree, aiming for a branch that was way too thin to carry her small weight. She landed on it, but it bent over, delivering her to the ground. She got up and shook herself off, hoping no one had seen. Finding that she was near where Blackfur had left his moss, Squirrelpaw grabbed it in her mouth and added it to her pile, before picking the whole pile and ran off, muffled laughter ringing through the trees.

Blackfur chuckled when his apprentice fell off the branch. "Ha! Wait, what are you-HEY!" He quickly jumped down from the tree and chased after Squirrelpaw, laughing as he did so. He cornered the small she-cat and growled playfully, eyeing the large bundle of moss.

Squirrelpaw ran as fast as she could but quickly found herself cornered by her mentor. She growled back, but it was so muffled she couldn't even hear herself. She edged back, trying to escape, but she couldn't. The moss was making her mouth dry so she decided to run between Blackfur's legs and get to the nursery as quickly as possible. When she got there, the apprentice dumped the moss on the floor.

Blackfur followed his apprentice back to camp, still playfully snarling. He skidded into the nursery, kicking up a storm of dirt and moss. He tackled Squirrelpaw and lightly nipped her and pretended to scratch her with sheathed claws. "Got you!" he said triumphantly. He then realized that other cats were watching them and let his apprentice up, awkwardly getting up the scattered moss.

"Thanks" replied Atlas. "It was just a few rabbits so not that hard to catch."
