Brooklyn heard the bracelets jiggling on his wrist. She knew many wore that stuff to hide the forced bracelet the predators. She was careful not to focus on the subject in case he noticed and thought she was one to support it.

The small bat was back to the shelf.
Looking for more space books. He found some more interesting than others.

He grabbed one, or two.
He went to the desk. Grabbing the small ones. Wanting to get the encyclopedia last.


He then rushed over to Brooklyn's desk.
More jingling came from his wrist.

He then reached her and showed her the books.
"T'ese are nice! Can I get T'ese and the encyclopedia? And how much would it be..?"
He asked quickly, narrowing his eyes where she was looking.
His bracelets.

Really?! Now put of all moments?
It always happened. He made a friend that was "prey" (he hates to call them that) and they where buddies. Until they saw his wrist and get scared. And made excuses to get away. Like
"Oh sorry, I need to go" or " I have something to do" and one HE got the most often. "Sorry, I didn't think you where a predator"

He snapped out of his train of thought and awkwardly hid his bracelets with the sleeve of his hoodie.
"Is.. there a problem?"
He asked nervously.

Brooklyn was about to look in the catalog to check the prices when he noticed. She hissed softly annoyed at her curious and not she got caught staring. "Nope not at all," she said looking at the catalog with her normal voice. She wrote the prices down on a piece of paper then tallied up the total. The said," All this would be 35 dollars."

Jack nodded and took out his wallet. Ignoring the thing that just happened.
It was probably an accident Sean. And ACCIDENT.

He took out a 50 dollar bill. And gave it to her.

Brooklyn took the bill and typed if a few things to the cash register. There was a ding sound and she pulled out a 5 and 20 to give to him. "Do you want some bags to help you carry these?" she asked trying to figure how he was going to carry the one book that weighs easily 5 pounds. She even thought about offering to carry it for him

Jack nodded rapidly.
"Yeah! I'm sure I need a bag! Not sure how I'm gonna carry THAT."
He said pointing at the encyclopedia.
He grabbed the change, but gave her the 5 dollars.
" 'ere! Keep em'"
He said, closing his eyes and smiling.

Brooklyn placed the books in the bag and was about to offer to carry them for him when he gave her a five. "Wait no no I can't take this I get paid for this job there no need to give me a tip. In fact we don't even do tips," she said talking really fast because she was nervous. She pushed over the bill. One had ever tried that before and she didn't know how to react to it honestly. "Oh if you want I could carry the book if it's not that far," she said trying to change the money.

Jack giggled, and refused to take back the money.
"'ey, I want ye to keep it! Ye deserve it!"
He said, grabbing the heavy bag.

"Nah, no need to help! I think I can make it.
Plus, ye have a store to look after, right?"
He said, struggling a bit with the bag.

Brooklyn quickly slipped the bill into his bag after he picked up the bag. She smirked like she totally got him now and there was no way that he would stop to get the bill out. "Like I said if it wasn't that long a ways my boss wouldn't mind or better yet. Just leave me an address and I can bring it to that location after I close the shop," She said not liking how he was already struggling with the bag.

Thinking if he should leave an address, or just take it himself.

He said, finally deciding, putting the heavy bag in the desk.
