Murderers in Riverclan V.2 [Roster Update 10/30]

"I'm not sure. Chickorypaw found Snowstorm dead. I think she drowned."He kept his eyes squeezed shut as he answered, his mew trembling slightly. More cats had joined them, but who? He couldn't make out their scents through all the blaring red. Sweetdrop cracked one eye open, then the other, and made out the pelts of Rainstorm and Flypelt through the scarlet that tinged his vision. "She was a good swimmer though..."

Honeypaw was already awake early, organizing her herbs. But once she heard Chicorypaw's cry, she bolted out of her den, not even waiting to tell Riverleap. Once she arrived near the river, she had expected for something wrong to happen to Chicorypaw, but instead, it was Snowstorm. "Dead?" She echoed in disbelief. "She can't be! Out of nowhere? Here, heave her body out of there and let me take a look."

Sparrowflight

The young, fluffy tom trotted out of the warriors den with a yawn. He was woken by some voices and screeches. Sparrowflight listened out of curiosity. "What in Starclans name has gotten everyone so riled up?" He padded over by the others, what he saw caused his jaw to drop and his blood felt like it froze.

Sweetdrop nodded and tried to shove Snowstorm's body over to Honeypaw. He didn't get very far though, her water-logged coat making the dead she-cat very heavy. He stood panting for a moment before returning returning to his job, this time managing to shift her over to the apprentice. Great, now he smelled like death.

Stonefall sits up in her den. Well, the elders den. But her mate was long dead, so the lone elder called it her den. She shoots a cautious glance around, still feeling exposed on her blind side. Once she was sure it was safe, she began her morning routine. Clean out the den. It was an apprentices job to do so, but she always felt the desire to do it herself, since the other cats never got it how she liked it. It was a while until she stood back, satisfied with her work. Had she had opposable thumbs, or a camera, or
The knowledge to even work one, she would have taken a picture. check. The elder thought to herself. Now, wait for the apprentices and warriors to come back from hunting. Then, she would be able to get the freshest of the fresh kill. So stonefall turned, nearly tripping and faceplanting her paws, and sat to wait. She was waiting for a while when the sounds of the others finally caught up to her. She stands up, her ears and nose stiffe and alert. Padding out of the den, she pads out of camp, following the shouts of other cats. When she gets there, she exclaims "What in the Heck are you kits shouting about?? Its not like somebody d--...!" The she cat stopped short. Ironic. Somebody actually did die.

Flypelt sighed, then proposed,
"Could she have been possibly... murdered? As you have mentioned she was a good swimmer, the only logical way leading to her death was murder."

Sweetdrop stopped licking himself viciously and shot up straight. "No!" He suprised himself by yelling, "I mean, no. That can't be possible. No cat would do that!" Would they? No, of course not. Pitch-black fear scent began to billow around the tom and he tried to shove he thought away. Not even a Shadowclan cat would have done that. "I only smell Riverclan on her."

Chicorypaw's voice trembled. She barely wanted to even think of the possibility, but... it had to be thrown out there. "What if a riverclan cat killed her?" The apprentice mews, her tail spiked. She began to glance at the cats gathered around Snowstorm's body warily. What if it was one of us...

Flypelt's blind gaze landed on the two panicking cats, then concluded,
"Well, as the body only has Riverclan on it, then one of us must've killed her."
No matter how many of us wish to deny it.
