[Fading Dreams]

Snowstorm stretched and yawned as she woke up,
careful to not bother her other clanmates she made
her way out of the Warrior's den. The sun was only
starting to come up and so it was moderately dark.
Maybe I should go for a walk, that would be nice...
No one would most likely bother me too, She
thought in her head as she padded out the entrance
of the camp.

It was normal for the she-cat to go out alone and
hunt or do whatever she really wanted to do, as she
was a lone wolf in the clan. Mainly keeping to herself
compared to her other clanmates. Snowstorm sat
down in a spot by the river, feeling at peace and
serene. "Hey is it okay if I sit with you?" A different
cat asked, as Snowstorm slightly jolted up at the
voice. It was only one of her other clanmates.
"I guess," Snowstorm muttered back to the cat.

It was silent for a few moments until the cat
spoke up. "You miss your kin don't you?" the
killer asks, watching Snowstorms expression.
"Obviously," Snowstorm stated coldly as she looked
back at the river and away from the murderer.
"Well then, why don't you go visit them?" The cat
asked the she-cat. "What do you--" Snowstorm
started before she was pushed into the water,
by the cat, the current dragging her out. "Help!"
Snowstorm cried out but no one could hear her.
She soon drowned, her body ending up at one
part of the river. "Have fun and tell your kin
I said hello," The killer muttered, a smile on
their face as they sneakily made their way
back to camp unnoticed.

Chicorypaw blinked open her eye, staring at the sunlight filtering through the apprentices den. Another day, another prey, I guess, she thought to herself as her belly rumbled. A light smile played across the apprentice's face. She stood up, shaking the reeds from her nest out of her pelt, and picked her way around Seedpaw and Snakepaw's nests. Chicorypaw headed towards the stream, aiming for her usual drink. Lapping at the cool waters, it took her a moment that something about the water tasted... off. Her gaze traveled upstream, resting on a pale lump. Her stomach fell, and Chicorypaw took a halfstep back, her eyes wide as her jaws stretched open in a screech of shock and terror. "Snowstorm!"

Quickclaw
He woke up and yawned, stretching. Early morning chill swept through his short fur and he couldn't repress a shiver. Even surrounded by his clanmates, he couldn't find much warmth. He carefully picked his way through the Warriors den, nearly stepping on his clanmates multiple time. After he finally managed to make it outside without stepping on anyone, he looked around and noticed the clearing was mostly empty. Quickclaw shrugged to himself and padded out of camp. No one would mind if he went hunting. Plus it would help warm him up. "Water is probably cold right now... not going to risk that. It wouldn't hurt if I did dry land hunting though. I need to make sure I can still catch a rabbit and that I haven't grown too fat on fish," he muttered to himself and snorted in amusement at the idea of him being fat. The big tom scented the air and caught the scent of a vole, probably near the river. He followed the scent trail and crouched down, noticing rustling in the bushes in front of him. Quickclaw immediately pounced forward, flying straight onto the prey's squeaking body. He delivered the killing bite and was about to bury it when he heard an apprentice shriek. "Chicorypaw?!" he called out in alarm as he bounded towards her.

Sweetdrop blinked up at the intertwining branches that formed the roof of the warrior's den. The scent of freshkill did not reach him with it's pearly-whites but he grinned anyways. He could always go hunting and fill that pile until it was big enough to swallow a cat. Yes, that's what he would do! The warrior pushed himself to his paws and abandoned the misty blue of his sleeping clanmates for the forest. Once the trees had enveloped Sweetdrop in their grasp he found himself drifting from his self-appointed mission in favor of the natural beauty the land had in the morning. Even the stinging red seemed softer in the faint light, wait. Stinging red? Nothing in the forest smelled red! The warrior picked up his pace and found himself led to the edge of the river where a limp shape lay next to a young cat. "Chickorypaw! What happened?" The red was almost overbearing but he padded closer anyways.

Chicorypaw's ears flattened as the two toms appeared in the area. "I d-don't know... I came to get a d-drink and Snowstorm is.... She can't b-be d-dead!" The apprentice closed her eye, shuddering. Snowstorm can't be dead. She can't be.

"Red means death," Sweetdrop muttered, almost to himself. He had seen only a few deaths in his time but the color stood out to him always, clinging to his nostrils as it did now. The tan tom shut his eyes to the scarlet that blocked his vision and murmured gently to Quickclaw, "Could she have drowned?" It seemed unlikely but what other option was there? There was no fox silver or badger yellow clinging to Snowstorm's pelt.

Flypelt head popped up from where he was resting it as he heard footsteps trotting out of camp.
What in the name of Starclan could be so important to wake up so early?
He got up, nearly falling while doing so.
Well, only way to find out is to s- hear for myself.
He started walking out of the den, making sure to not kick anyone that he stepped over and exited the den.
Flypelt followed the faint sound of footsteps of the cat, eventually encountering the cat, as well as a few others.
He yawned, then asked, completely ignoring the scent of death,
"Why are you guys up so early?"

She woke to a start, hearing a faint screech in the distance, "What was that?" she asked herself quietly and dragged herself up from her nest and walked out of the den. There was an unpleasant smell in the air, she followed the stench and it led to down by the river and a little was from camp. When she walked out there she saw a couple cats standing by the stream, oh no..., she thought and ran down there, "What happened?" she asked looking down at the somewhat red stream.
