She turned in the direction Tinykit had pointed.
"Hi Bumblestep! How ya doin today?" She knew the elder got lonely, being by himself, so she came to see him often. He could get annoyed by her at times, though what cat didn't get annoyed at the kits from time to time? She also enjoyed getting out of the nursery when possible, so that was another plus.

"Hi." Bumblestep greeted the kits with his usually cheery looking smile. He forgot all about his earlier confusion about Metalstar saying his name for some reason. "Stay over there for a minute. Please." He meowed while motioning with his tail for them to back away. Slowly, the tom started trying to lay down but the action caused one of his legs to slip out from under him. He collapsed against the ground with a soft grunt of slight annoyance. Bumblestep soon rolled over onto his side so he was in a more comfortable position before saying, "Okay. I'm good now." The uncoordinated tom didn't like standing, or even sitting, up whenever kits came around him. He was afraid he would accidentally fall and crush one.

Alderkit watched Bumblestep lay down with some difficulty. She knew better than to try and help the tom, as he didn't like it. She and Tinykit moved to where Bumblestep's tail was pointed, and sat down.
"So, Bumblestep, I brought Tinykit with me today. I figured that'd be cool with you." She paused, nodding towards the younger kit. "How are ya feeling today?" She mewed, smiling. She knew Bumblestep's had a hard time doing things sometimes, and wanted to make sure he was feeling decent today.

"There was nothing we could do to prevent that," Blizzardclaw purred, comforting Pebbleheart. "Besides, Metalstar's shaping out to be a wonderful leader as well." He lifted his head as the leader appeared. "Even if he is a bit bossy."

She snorts "I'm Gonna go get that hide, be right back!" She playfully scratched on his ear and left

Blizzardclaw laughed quietly as Pebbleheart dashed off. He ran his paw over the ear his friend had scratched. It stung a bit and he winced. Pebbleheart should be more careful, he thought, lying down and resting his head on his paws. Until Metalstar made him lead a patrol or something, he wasn't going to move.

Tinykit waddled over to the elder's tail to start playfully batting at it.

Bumblestep's gaze followed Tinykit. "He's small." He commented without realizing that his words could be seen as potentially insulting. He was more so commenting on the fact that he looked much too young to be out of the nursery instead of talking about the kit's actual smaller than average size.

Alderkit watched Tinykit play with Bumblestep's tail. "Yah, he's a little young. We won't be out long though." She paused, looking up at Bumblestep.
"Do you like him? I think he's pretty cool. It's a shame that he's younger. He might not be able to start apprentice training with me. And Sparrowpaw'll be a warrior by then... I'll be all alone..."
She looked down at her paws, fidgeting.

Metalstar ran over to Blizzardclaw
"Go help Pebbleheart hunt; and tell her to get 5 bunny hides from a nearby river-seller, if she's still there."

Blizzardclaw stood back up. "Alright," he said. "But I doubt Pebbleheart'll have stayed there for long with her energy." He walked away quickly before Metalstar could say anything else. Blizzardclaw didn't want any more commands from the bossy leader.

Sparrowpaw looked up from grooming herself when she heard her name. She padded over to where the kits and Bumblestep were chatting. "Maybe I'll be your mentor, Alderkit," she said, trying to cheer up the younger molly. "Then we'd still get to hang out all the time!"
