"Most likely now, but I will lie so the clan does not worry about me." She replied.

The weight of the two cats made the tree groan and threaten to snap. Sweetpaw's eyes glistened with fear and he froze, midway up the swaying tree, "I'm going to fall!" he yowled, "It's going to break!"

"Don't lose confidence! Slide around and sink your claws into the base of the tree like this." He meowed sliding away from the branch then sinking his claws into the tree, and he slide downward, going onto a thicker branch.

Sweepaw-Leafclan

The tom clenched his teeth and dug in his claws, gingerly shifting his weight so that he could drop onto the next branch. With a gasp he let go, but too slowly. Sweetpaw landed on the thicker branch alongside Flameheart but his claws stung from the weight he had placed on them, "They hurt," he mewled pitifully.

"They usually hurt at first, but you are young. Besides, the more you fo it, the better and less painful it is."

"But what if I don't want to be a squirrel? What if I'm happy on the ground?" Sweetpaw's mew was indignant and contesting as a cat his age often was. Being up in the sky seemed stupid to him, cat's had four good legs and they were for the ground.

"IF you learn hoe to climb on trees and such, you have a better chance catching more prey for your clan. Besides. Sweetpaw, you wantwd to be the best warrior, leader, you should be able to climb trees." He said winking.

"I can be a good leader on the ground," he objected, but his mew was less defiant and he knew he was ready to give in. With a sigh that sounded more like air from a mouse than a sulky warrior he turned back to he tree and dug his claws in.

The chubby tom hauled himself up, flinching at the strain on his claws but ignoring it. One paw, two paw. One paw, two paw. The rhythm repeated in his head to the pattern of his heartbeat as he pulled himself up, agonizingly slow.
