Whispermoon purred with good nature, and listened to the two toms. "Hi, Otterpaw," She greeted in return. "Where do you find Chamomile again?" Whispermoon asked, forgetting it's whereabouts, even though she often stopped in to greet the medicine cats, and offer to help.

Hawkpaw beamed at the she-cat, and gently flicked his tail so that it brushed against her playfully. "So, should we find Sunstrike and Greyfeather?" He asked his friend, cocking his head slightly.

Heronpaw paused, trying to recollect where chamomile could be found. "I'm pretty sure they're near twolegplace, but I have seen some scattered near the northern border," He answered. "Although, it might not be safe to go towards twolegplace. I heard there's been a lot of twolegs near the border recently," Heronpaw spoke with concern. Twolegs were one of his greatest fears, as he used to live the life of a kittypet and despised anything that reminded him of those dreadful times. A bad memory he remembered caused a shiver to run down his spine. The young cat dug his claws into the ground, trying to focus on other things to distract him. Luckily, he had managed to calm down after a few seconds, returning back to a normal state.

Otterpaw ears twitched when he heard Heronpaw say his name. Otterpaw thought about for a little bit before nodding his head. It would be better to do that then nothing else. "Sure I guess... Better then just laying around here all day." Otterpaw mumbled in reply,feeling a spark if happiness that he was at least able to do something. Otterpaw gave Heronpaw a weird look after he noticed the other apprentice dig his claws into the ground. Otterpaw flicked Heronpaw with his tail. "Hey you alright there Herbpaw? Are the herbs finally missing with your head?" Otterpaw asked jokingly, though he was a bit concerned.

Heronpaw let out a playful growl towards Otterpaw and rolled his eyes at the apprentice's comment. "Yes, I'm fine. At least herbs are better than using mouse bile to take ticks off of the elders' pelts," He hissed, a glint of amusement in his eyes. He knew Otterpaw didn't get offended by little jokes, and hoped he didn't take his banter too seriously. After all, Heronpaw knew what it felt like to be a regular apprentice.

Otterpaw shivered just thinking about it. "Please, don't ever bring that nasty stuff up again!" Otterpaw replied sticking out his tongue. Out of everything he had to do as an apprentice, that was the thing he hated doing the most. Otterpaw shook himself before turning to the den exit. "Lets get out of this herb den... to find whatever that herb's name was." Otterpaw added as he limped out of the den, giving Heronpaw a nudge on his way out. "What dose this herb do anyway?" Otterpaw asked tilting his head, he wasn't all that interested, but if he was going to have to help get some, he at least wanted to know what it did.

Heronpaw let out a purr, lightly batting the tips of Otterpaw's ears playfully when he stuck out his tongue. The young cat flicked his tail in annoyance at his question. "It's chamomile," He spoke, sounding out each syllable of the plant. "It calms cats if they are in severe shock or nervousness," Heronpaw told the tom, his eyes instantly lighting up when he started talking about the herb. Medicine had always fascinated the apprentice, and sharing it with others made it feel important. He padded out of the den, heading towards the northern exit. "We'll have to find some poppy seeds as well, but those are found everywhere. They can put cats to sleep or ease pain," He mewed.

Otterpaw rolled his eyes. "Yeah, that herb." Otterpaw replied jokingly. Ottpaw's ears twitched slightly as he listened to Heronpaw talk about the herb. Otterpaw glanced over at other tom, seeing how his eyes lit up. I guess he really dose enjoy learning to be medicine cat... maybe just as me learning to be a warrior. I didn't think anyone could enjoy sticking their nose into herbs all day. Otterpaw thought as Heronpaw continued to talk. "Sounds.... Interesting, for herbs." Otterpaw remarked as he limped beside Heronpaw, as they started out of camp. A remark popped up in Otterpaw's head as Heronpaw talked about the Poppy seeds, though he was unsure if he should say it, thinking it sounded a bit to rude. "Okay... I think I've had poppy seeds enough times to know what they are." Otterpaw said instead, trying to remember to get some if he saw any. Ottper glanced over at Littlepaw and Hawkpaw and folded back his ears. It looked like they were hanging out without him, again.

Whispermoon

Whispermoon followed along beside Heronpaw, listening, and scouting out for the herbs. "Poppy!" She exclaimed, moments after leaving the camp. Whispermoon padded over, and gently shook one of the poppy flowerheads. Poppy seeds dropped into her paws.

Otterpaw Jumped when Whispermoon suddenly cried out. Otterpaw looked at her wide eyed, before quickly recovering. That was the second time the she-cat had given him a scare. Why am I so jumpy today? Otterpaw though with a slight frown. Get ahold of your Otterpaw, or everyone will start calling you a fraidy-cat. Otterpaw though as he watched Whsipermoon get the poppy seeds. He limped over to her and looked at the plant. He had seen this plant before many times, but yet it never clicked with him that the poppy seeds came from them. "So that's where they come from." Otterpaw whispered, mostly to himself. After realizing he had spoken out loud, he folded back his ears, feeling slightly embarrassed he hadn't known that before.
