Heronpaw stepped forward to examine the paw more closely. He lightly touched it with his paw, making sure not to cause any more pain. "Hm, looks likes it's just a sprain," He concluded, stepping back away from Otterpaw and padding over to the herb supply. "I'll put some cobwebs on it and give you some dandelion leaves to stop the pain." The tom returned to Otterpaw carrying a wad of cobwebs and a couple leaves, dropping the leaves so that Otterpaw could eat them while he wrapped the cobwebs around his paw. "You'll have to rest for a few days to allow the sprain to heal," Heronpaw told the apprentice as he applied the herb to his paw.

Otterpaw nodded slowly after Heronpaw told him it was just a sprain. Otterpaw sat down as he watched Heronpaw find the herbs he needed. I hate taking herbs. Otterpaw thought as he glared down at the herbs Heronpaw had placed in front of him. Otterpaw closed his eyes before getting the leaves in his mouth. Otteroaw did nothing to his distaste for the herbs. She shook his head and stuck out his tongue in disgust. "Those things never get better do they?" Otterpaw asked before his eyes widened at Heronpaw. "Wait what!? Just how many days!?"

Heronpaw chuckled softly at Otterpaw's reaction to the herbs. "You'll get used to them eventually," He replied, then stepped back from the wrapped paw. At Otterpaw's sudden exclamation about having to rest his paw, he gave an apologetic smile to the tom. "Don't worry, I won't keep you locked up in the den," He told him. "Just for one or two, at most. You can still go out into the territory, but it would be best to do it minimally. Hunting or battle-training wouldn't be good for it, either."

Whispermoon

Whispermoon padded back to camp with difficulty, dragging a plump rabbit, vole clutched in her jaws. As she crossed the threshold, she promptly pulled hard on the fresh-kill, and when she was a tail-length away- Whispermoon flung the rabbit into the pile. Panting, she then dropped the vole.

The she-cat let out a small sigh, but smiled all the same. Maybe the Medicine Cats need help? Whispermoon thought hopefully, wanting to preoccupy herself. She walked towards the medicine den, and poked her head inside. "Hello, Heronpaw!"She greeted the apprentice happily. "Do you need help with anything?"

At the sudden sound of Whispermoon's voice, Heronpaw jumped in surprise. He laughed at himself for getting startled at a warrior, his pelt feeling hot with embarrassment. "Good morning, Whispermoon," Heronpaw mewed. He thought for a moment, glancing back at the herb storage. "Hmm, we are running low on poppy seeds and chamomile. If you would like to join me, that would be nice," He offered.

Otterpaw calmed down a little but still seamed to be worried about something. "Thanks Heronpaw..."Otterpaw replied softly hating that he wouldn't be able to get out and train.I'm not going to let Hawkpaw get ahead of me! It's already bad enough that he has a moon head start on training! Otterpaw thought frowning. Since he was lost in his thoughts, Otterpaw jumped when he heard Whispermoon's voice as it seamed to come out of no where. Otterpaw turned his head to the warrior and folded back his ears slightly. "Hey Whispermoon." Otterpaw mumbled as he flicked his tail in greetings at her.

"It's going well, thanks for asking. I do miss morning patrols sometimes, though it's nice to be able to sleep in a bit," Heronpaw replied, laughing slightly at his last statement. He turned back to Otterpaw. "You could come too, if you want. You should keep the paw moving sometimes so that it can shift back to normal," He explained.
