Rory sighed and closed his eyes, praying Sable would come back soon.

Sable's other pup soon came to her side as well. Sable shook her head as he opened his mouth. "Endure it, little ones. You'll be warm soon."

Fraeca closed her eyes after Rory, scooching over to feel his warmth.

((Aww.... it just got really sad cause John killed the little bear cubs ))

Rory smiled when he felt Fraeca move closer. "Sleep well" he whispered.

(( Huh? Oh yeah, forget them. XD I know it's sad, but they'd grow up to be big evil Akakabuto's and Madara's. Eh... did Gin get is scars yet? ))

Sable veered around for a moment, then began to dig a hole under a small thicket. "Wait in here, it'll be warmer. I'm going to hunt." She made sure the pups crawled safely inside, then ran off to find some prey.

The tiny pup sat down and yawned. "It's so cold outside... I wanna get home soon... momma says it'll be warm there..." she shivered and pressed against her brother, who nodded in agreement.

Fraeca nodded. "You too..." she whispered before drifting into sleep.

Aeri stepped forward. So... this is it... this is Rory, huh? She let her drifting scent waver around, hanging in the air. She closed her eyes, disappearing into the air.

He sank to his paws, laying next to his sister. "It'll be alright," he mumbled. "It must be... if momma says so."

Sable paused, then sank into the shadows. A thick-furred rabbit was trotting along the foresty path that grew before her. She bunched her haunches, then sprang out and darted forward in hot pursuit of the rabbit.

Rory's nose twitched. He smelled something. His eyes flittered open, but saw nothing. He stood up, careful not to disturb Fraeca, and looked around. "Who's there?" he quietly growled.

(( Oh, I meant in his dream... XD ))

Sable snapped the rabbit's neck, bringing it to the ground. Breathless, she sank her teeth into its neck and picked it up.

She squinted as the harsh wind blew in their makeshift den. "It's... too... cold..." She closed her eyes and began to drift into sleep.

Aeri giggled, though still invisible to Rory's eyes. "No need to be so hostile. I won't hurt you."

The little pup nuzzled his sister, trying to keep her warm as she slept. Then, in the distance, he heard approaching footsteps. Momma!
