He picked up his head and looked at the tortoiseshell she-cat beside him.
"Ah. Hello Blossomdawn," Rowanbranch purred happily. "How are you doing?" he continued.

Acornpaw limped back to camp on 3 paws. Her paw had gotten quite swelled. She limped into camp, and as quickly as she could hopped over to the medicine cat den.

Morningpaw saw Acornpaw come inside the den and poke her head in. "Hey, Acornpaw, what's up?" She mewed cheerful, but then saw her swelled paw, and Morningpaw's eyes grew wide. "What happened?" She asked nervous, while sniffing at the wound.

"A little training accident." She mewed flatly. Her paw was stinging, but she would show little to no pain. She was a warrior in training. She wouldn't squeal like a kit. "What can you give it?"

Morningpaw smoothed some comfrey root and dock onto it. "That should help." She sighed. "You don't have to stay in here, just stay in the apprentices den until it heals." She mewed to her friend. She saw that that didn't help, "Don't worry. You'll be back in training in no time." She reassured her, but Acornpaw didn't look convinced. She rubbed against her flank, trying to brighten her up, but she only smiled for a second, then said "Thanks for the help." And walked out.

Acornpaw limped over to the apprentice den. She passed Swiftpaw and Wildpaw on her way, but didn't look at them. She was so embarrassed she had hurt her paw on such an easy move. She laid down in her nest and fell asleep.

"Fine, thank you, and yourself?" She asked the russet warrior. She had always liked this tom, but never had feelings for him, they were friends since kits. "How's your apprentice?"

Blackheart had been waiting for his apprentice to wake up. He padded to him and asked if he was ready to go on a patrol if there was one. "We might practice some battle moves too." He added with a mrrow of amusement.

Milkfeather sat up and yawned. She smiled at her son who was talking to his apprentice. It had been a long time since she had mentored someone and she missed the feeling that teaching had given her. She sighed, and picked up a mouse from the fresh kill pile.

Yellowpaw bounded out of the den and pounced on his mentor, "hey what're we gonna learn today?" He purred.

Blossomdawn looked down at the eager apprentice. "Hello, Yellowpaw." She mewed warmly to the tom.

Hearing Acornpaw's words, she turned to the small apprentice and smiled, about to speak until the female ran off, most likely to join her mentor. Glancing back over at Starlingswoop, Azurestar nodded and replied,"I understand, though I don't mind it very much.

He grinned at his mentor and leapt to his feet, excited to get started with his training. "I'd love to go on a patrol! Battle moves sound fun too," Swiftpaw cheered and flicked his tail, joyous at the mentioning of both activities.

Seeing that Swiftpaw was busy with his mentor, he left his brother alone and went to search for Wolftooth, glancing around the camp.

Morningpaw padded out of her den. She spotted Azurestar speaking with Starlingswoop, and padded over to them. "Hello, Azurestar." Morningpaw mewed kindly to her leader. She turned her head to Starlingswoop "Hi, Starlingswoop!"

"I believe a hunting patrol and a border patrol will be put together momentarily," Azurestar told Blackheart and flicked her tail, making a mental list of the cats who could be able to go on a patrol.
