Morningpaw watched as her friend took off to her mentor. For a moment she wished she hadn't chosen to be a medicine cat apprentice, but then shook her head. She was always destined to be a medicine cat. She padded to her den and placed the catmint down. Swanfeather was still asleep, which gave her the idea he was up late perhaps looking for a late-night herb.

Adderpaw's ears twitched as his mentor spoke, his tail drooping briefly when Thornstep scolded him, though soon perking up again at the mention of power and greatness. Yes... No one will dare to challenge me when I'm leader he thought, puffing out his chest as he followed Thornstep's orders and performed the move again, this time making sure to follow exactly what the warrior had done. He would've liked to confide in his mentor his ambitions to become deputy and then leader, though he knew that if anycat were to overhear, then it would cause unwanted trouble. All apprentices were eager to learn, but at times Adderpaw seemed to be consumed by his desires to achieve great things within Cedarclan. It wasn't something apprentices usually spoke of.
"Is...is that better?" Adderpaw asked, eager to please his mentor. Supportive comments were rare from the warrior however, though the apprentice didn't mind; he had always thought that the other mentors were too soft on their own apprentices anyway.
