Shadefur

The she-cat stretched her tired limbs. Night hunting was always her favourite, it was calm, and quiet with only the moon to guide your paws. She twitched her whiskers, scenting the air as she glanced lazily across the camp. She noticed Hawkflight in a shaded spot in the clearing. The she-cat was quite fond of the old tom, having listened to his stories when she was merely a kit as well. Shadefur grabbed a mouse from the fresh-kill pile and brought it over to the tom, nodding respectfully.

Hawkpaw

The apprentice was practically shaking with excitement. He was going to go out of the camp for the first time! Being a kit was never much interest for the tom, the camp lacking in places to explore and things to do. He dug his claws into the ground, picturing it to be some slimy Aspenclan cat's fur. Would his mentor teach him how to hunt? Hawkpaw had been practicing his crouch with what little he could find in the camp. Maybe he could catch his first piece of prey! He hoped it would be a mouse. He loved the taste of mice.

the tom barely recognized Shadefur. His chest rose and fell as he struggled to breathe.

The tortoiseshell dropped the mouse in front of the elder.

"Good morning Hawkflight. Have you been enjoying the warmer weather lately? I've brought you some fresh-kill" She chirped happily, curling her tail around her paws. She then noticed the heavy breathing of the tom, wheezing in the fresh air.

"Let me get Jaywing, you don't appear well. I'll be right back."

Hawkpaw

His apprentice ceremony was soon. He wondered who would be his mentor. Maybe it would be the leader herself! He could barely hold his excitement. He could finally train to be a warrior of the clan! He would be the best apprentice yet. He would help out the elders, and train really hard! He looked around the camp, trying to imagine himself as one of the apprentices. He would be sleeping in the apprentice's den now! It would be great to get away from all the dumb kits. He was way to big for the nursery now.

Dawkwhisker, hurried over to the medicine cat, trying to remain calm. She was no medicine cat and could be worrying for nothing for all she knew. She also didn't want to get the camp in a panic. She dipped her head hurriedly, wasting no time.

"I'm sorry for interrupting, but Hawkflight is having difficulty breathing. Jaywing. would you please take a look at him?"

The young tom saw Dawnwhisker go over to Jaywing and Silverstar, but he thought nothing of it. He scratched at the dirt, his pristine fur getting dirty. He wanted to not waste another second not training to be the best warrior Rainclan had ever had.
