Cyanide tilted her head - mainlanders? She wondered what would happen if she arrived at camp with them, preferably as prisoners. This... Sandwing... could be the secret to revenge... They chased us out, and now, we can finally return the favor... Images flashed in her mind's eye: of the Sandwing leading her back to the rest of his group, which she could only assumed held those forsaken Nightwings and Icewings as well. She could capture them - no, just one; drag them to the Venomwing camp, and wait for the others to stumble right into a trap. They could interrogate them, find out the current state of the cursed tribes who had forced them onto this measly island, and hopefully manage to melt them open on top of it. She'd be able to orchestrate the main lines of attack... She'd lead her tribe - and all of the others - back to their home. Back to Haven. But if this Fangwing kills him first... Bristling, Cyanide launched herself from the tree, gliding towards the ground with her jaws snapped open. "I'd expect you to know what'll happen to you, Fangwing," She hissed, sliding forwards. "If you take another step." Gain their trust.

Sai was about to speak again, but froze. She glanced over her shoulder, hissing in fury as her eyes met a VenomWing, but didn't move. She didn't dare mess with their venom. She had heard of a few unlucky dragons who had decided to attack one, and were now definitely dead. Sai lifted her talons from Pharaoh's chest, grey eyes locked on Cyanide. Then she whirled around, letting out a burst of flame straight at her face, before turning back around and darting away through the trees. The FangWing bared her teeth, letting out a furious growl. Sai didn't like the idea of leaving the SandWing with a VenomWing, but she didn't want to risk her own neck.

    --

Peregrine sharply looped around, ducked, weaved, anything to save himself from being ripped in half. He realized they all hated the 'mainlanders', but it wasn't the dragonets' fault they lost their home! Why take out the anger on them?! The SkyWing pelted through the trees, having done a U-turn in the direction of the ocean. He'd be safe there, right? He'd be safe- And before Peregrine knew it, he was plummeting towards the water, evidently having fallen off. Desperately he waved his arms toward a dark lump in the water, which he assumed - more like hoped - was Abyss. He hit the water hard, meanwhile hearing roars of fury from the FangWing above. At least it was smart enough not to follow the SkyWing.

    --

Abyss had been returning to the smaller island, blue eyes set on the northern forest. He hoped the dragonets knew what they were doing, and could get to the mountains safely. The WindWings would be the most merciful if they were caught - at least, Abyss thought they would be. Why am I helping them? he caught himself thinking. They went from prey to.. friends like that. I have as much reason to hate them as everyone else on this island. They could be lying. They could've been sent here. If the mainlanders knew of our location. He was wrapped up in his thoughts enough to almost missed the falling pale orange shape waving it's arms before falling. Immediately the CurrentWing whirled around and sped through the water, back toward the cove. It took a good few minutes, and Peregrine was flapping in the water towards the shore like an injured shark. "Where's Pharaoh?" Abyss asked, staring up at the trees high above them. "Still up there, being chased by two very angry whatchamacallits," the SkyWing said breathlessly, flopping on the sand. The CurrentWing cursed, still staring up, then spread his wings and launched himself into the air. Not many of his tribe liked to fly, as it was slightly awkward when trying to land with no mobility. He hovered above the canopy, eyes trailing along a path of trampled trees and ash. It was pretty easy to follow a FangWing. "SIDEWINDER!" Abyss shouted, still hovering. Probably not the best choice, but as long as it got to the SandWing and he knew Abyss was there..

Pharaoh let out his breath, realizing that he had been holding it while he had been pinned. Slowly he struggled to his talons, crying out in pain as his forearm seared with fiery heat. The tree that Sai had set alight was slowly being reduced to charred wood, and the flames were dying down. However, they had caught on to some of the leaves of nearby trees, which were blazing steadily.

When he turned around, he saw another dragon; one that he instantly categorized as a VenomWing, which made him understand why Sai had decided to run off. Their venom was five times more powerful than his own; and he was twice as strong as a regular SandWing's. Instant death, his mind whispered. He didn't say anything for a while, just looking at her, then cleared his throat, but not before hearing his name echoing through the forest. Well, not his real name; his mother's name, or, in this case, his fake name. It had to be Abyss.

"Um... Th-thanks. For saving m-me," he said awkwardly, dusting himself off and dislodging dirt that had burrowed between his scales. "But I should... I mean I MUST be going. It was nice meeting you." He tried to make it sound casual, even as he turned his back on her and started leisurely strolling in the other direction, heading towards the beach where Abyss, and hopefully Peregrine, would be waiting for him.

"Oh, I don't think so, Sandwing," Cyanide hissed, blocking Pharaoh's path. "You ought to be more grateful, don't you think? Now that there aren't any more blundering Fangwings... I'd prefer to keep you alive, but half - melted would be perfectly fine." For a half - second, her eyes flickered towards the flames that were hungrily lapping at the once vibrant trees before turning to "Sidewinder". "They must teach you about us in Pyrrhia," The Venomwing growled, adjusting her position in an attempt to steer him back towards her camp. "I hope that you know what I can do to you - for your own sake..." Just then, a crackle behind her made her eyes snap towards the source: a burning limb, low on the birch's trunk. The inferno had ravenously marched its way up the striped tree, and was now spreading onto a nearby pine... Cyanide snarled, the sound tinged with fear; she could almost hear the sap boiling. For a fleeting moment, she wasn't sure which to do - corner the Sandwing and possibly die in the explosion, or run for her life. A sneer slowly inched its away along her snout as she turned back to Pharaoh. "Let's see how far you can make it, Sidewinder." With those words, the Venomwing quickly sank her talons into a cedar away from the blaze, spraying a random jet of venom into the glen; she knew that it would never hit the Sandwing, but she prefered to go out with a bang.

Pharaoh could hear the sap boiling in the trees, as Cyanide was talking to him, knowing that if he stuck around he would die. But then It all happened so fast. One minute, she was rushing to defend him, the next she was potentially threatening him... And then she was spraying venom at him. He didn't stick around to figure out the rest. What he did know, however, as he whirled around and lunged for cover, was that there was a loud booming sound behind him, following by searing heat crackling along his scales. When the shockwave hit him, however, his back legs surged upwards and he was thrown forward, head over heels, into a nearby tree, where he crumpled to the ground. The hungry flames roared at him, bearing down on him, licking the leaves of the tree that had barred his way. They caught fire quickly, and before long, the whole tree went up with it.

He was left on the ground in a heap while the fire screeched at him. Somehow, he wasn't engulfed by the flames, although his palm leaf bandages caught fire quickly, scorching the wound and making him cry out dully. The pain he had felt before was nothing, NOTHING, compared to the pain he felt now. But he could already feel himself being dragged under by drowsiness, the swirling colors of the blaze blurring and merging and dancing before him. The heat was so close, so dangerously close, that he felt like he was being fried alive to be fed to some giant dragon later. Pharaoh struggled against unconsciousness, knowing that if he went under, he would never rise again. But his muscles wouldn't work. His nervous system, although yelling at them to get up and carry him to safety, could not bring them to spring into action again. Pharaoh felt like his golden scales were slowly being cooked into blackness, darker than an ocean abyss.

Just before he finally lapsed into unconsciousness, the flames ready to swallow him whole, he couldn't help but think about his mother. How he would finally see her again, even at the price of parting with his closest friends.

And then he thought no more.

(He's... Um... Open for someone to rescue? X3
I made this WAY too dramatic)

(Meeeeee)

Snowshoe
After calmly making negotiations with the Venomwing after he finished threatening him, along with avoiding an angry projectile of venom aimed straight at his face after he said something that was *apparently* rude to their kind, he was happy that he was FINALLY making progress with the Venomwing, and he had now dubbed him his "friend" as he rode along on his shoulder. "Okay, so," he said, feeling a little more up to the task of walking now after having a very energized (and despair-filled) talk with "Pitcher", as he was called. "I need to find my friends- basically they are uhm, mutants. If they look weird to you, then that's them, okay? But please don't shoot them with your venom." he said, shuddering at his near death experience. "By the way-" he started, heading towards the beach, because that's where they HAD to have washed up, right? But the Venomwing cut him off, like he had done a hundred times while he was explaining that he wasn't a threat.

Pitcher
"DO YOU SMELL THAT?" he said, stiffening as he grabbed Snowshoe's ears and directed him towards the forest. "I SMELL SMOKE" he hissed, crouching onto his back. "I bet it was a Fangwing...." he said in a low tone, no doubt scaring Snowshoe. "So we're going to... go into the fire? That's your master-plan?". That deserved a thwack on the head from Pitcher. "OF COURSE WE ARE! DUH! LET'S GOOOOO" he said, urging Snowshoe on. "HURRYYYYYYYY" he screeched, hitting his legs against his flank.

by the time abyss reached the heart of the forest, it erupted into flames. the currentwing yelped and awkwardly flew backward for a moment as the heat washed over his underbelly, fire roaring in a spreading patch underneath. he was low enough to hear fangwings running from the forest fire, towards the direction of the desert and the northern plains. abyss hovered there for a minute, bright blue eyes scanning the burning canopy and mentally panicking. was sidewinder down there? he couldn't be. would he be stupid enough to hang around? what had started the fire? was sidewinder dead? abyss shook his head, gritting his needle-like fangs. should he go down there and risk himself suffocating on smoke, or getting severely burned? best option is to keep them alive. taking a deep breath, the currentwing angled his wings and plunged through the leaves, heat washing over his body. the smoke made abyss' eyes sting, and he didn't know how along he could hold his breath. he felt himself brush against a flaming trunk, but it left a long, black burn across his shoulder. hissing, abyss sharply angled his wings once again and darted upwards, gasping for breath as he reached fresh air. immediately the aquatic dragon dived back in, this time toward the center of the forest fire. he figured sidewinder would be at the source if a fangwing maybe tried using fire to pin him down. despite the smoke, abyss kept his eyes open for the glimmer of gold scales. and there he was, laying motionless on the ground, with a crumbled white shape near him. abyss crashed down toward the sandwing, knocking aside pitcher and landing awkwardly on the ground. gently he slid his teeth between the scales of sidewinder's tail, hoisting him off the ground, and swung his limp form onto his back. abyss snaked his head around toward the other dragon; snowshoe. thought abyss couldn't understand it, he felt a small spark of anger inside him at the sight of the icewing, but regardless also heaved the other dragonet onto his back, spreading his deep blue wings and lifting himself off the ground.

abyss flew as far from the flames as he could before rising out of the forest, angling his wings downward and toward the cove. besides the burn on his shoulder, the currentwing had a few new ones on his fore flippers. and one through his fin and onto his snout. fun times, he thought bitterly, letting out a rough cough. he wondered why, exactly, he was helping them, if he would almost get himself killed. there was an icewing with them, after all, and a nightwing as well. abyss hadn't been in haven, but driving out seven tribes for not helping you in a war? that was low. he gently lowered himself toward the water, landing in it with a splash, and let himself float for a moment before drifting into the small cave under the cliff. after not so ceremoniously dumping them on the bank, abyss scooped some seawater into his mouth, drifted back to the bank, and poured it on their heads. if that didn't wake them up, he didn't know what would.

      [ it's alliiivvvee
hopefully we can keep this going. ]

Pharaoh could see those familiar swirling shapes again, the same ones he had seen before waking up and finding himself shipwrecked on this hellish island. This time they were dancing and zipping and slithering around in his mind, forming pictures from time to time, but ultimately he did not know what they were. When he tried to reach out and touch them, he shrank back again from a sharp stabbing pain, so bad that he wanted to cry out, but he couldn't. He wanted to open his eyes... He didn't know how...

Beam had been tearing into her catch and swallowing it hungrily before she had smelled the smoke. It didn't quite register at first; she had swallowed the bit of deer meat still left in her mouth, then began to sort it out. It scraped at her throat and at her nostrils, which had to mean smoke from a fire. Probably from FangWings, considering that they were the thickest tribe on the isle. All brawn, no brain. None.

Beam abandoned her perch, leaving behind the clean bones of the prey she had just devoured, while birds angrily cawed at her and began to decend upon those remains for any meat she may have left behind. Yeah, a fire; she could see the smoke in the distance, as well as the tips of the flames clawing at the sky. She narrowed her eyes, hissing, then let out a screech to alert the WindWings nearest to her.

Raptor stopped when he heard a small hissing sound near him. He looked up, narrowing his one eye, and hissed in reply. "What," he said sharply, curling his claws so that they dug painfully into his palms. The VenomWing leader poked her head through the leaves, growling at him.

"We bring... News," she hissed, dropping out of the tree and landing gracefully on the ground, bringing her head up so that they were level with each other.

"Do not waste my time," Raptor snarled, his tail swaying dangerously. "I do not care to hear things that do not concern us... Your problems are your problems." But she merely chuckled, which made Raptor hiss even louder and bare his fangs.

"Ahh... But I do believe this very much concerns you," she said slyly, her forked tongue slipping in and out between her venom-spitting fangs. "Trust me; you will want to hear this."

abyss simply floated there, eyes not moving from the two dragons below him. he raised his neck half his length as to not hit the ceiling, and he lifted a flipper out of the water, poking the sandwing with it. "wake up," he said bluntly. "you're out of danger." though sidewinder's forearm was badly burned and he had a few on the other parts of his body, he was alive, and that was what counted. peregrine came limp-running in, gritting his teeth, and abyss winced at his tail injury. a giant bite wound covered his tail, running from the base to midway. abyss bet that was probably a lighter bite; he had seen what a full-force adult bite could do. his forearms were pretty bad too. "are they alright?" the skywing asked breathlessly, pausing beside snowshoe and sidewinder. the currentwing glanced back at the two, now poking the icewing. "i think so. i'm not sure if they're alive or not. i hope they are." peregrine scowled, flinching as he tried flicking his tail. "thanks for the vote of confidence. " abyss simply shrugged, lowering his head toward snowshoe and sidewinder. "i'll go back and get the others. keep an eye on them." he turned away from the bank and drifted out of the cave, before diving under the shallow water. with a beat of his wings, abyss was speeding off into the bay, making good time despite his burns. in order to get to the mountains, the others would have to go by the desert and through the northern plains. filled with very tall grass, and very stealthy swiftwings. there was only one river through it, and it strayed a little far from the northern area. not that abyss needed a river if he decided to go with them, but he didn't exactly have proper legs like the rest of the tribes. he'd have to constantly fly, and would most likely become exhausted by the time they would pass by the desert. it was a large area, about four hundred kilometers excluding the plains. we'll find a way, abyss told himself, continuing his way to the lesser island.

falcon ran swiftly and silently through the high grass, unseen from above unless someone had a keen eye. behind her were three of her packmates, dragging a leafwing dragonet as quietly as they could. she let out a soft snort. leafwings. easy prey. despite others saying they were some of the most intelligent dragons on the isle, they were easier to trick and take down than they looked. she snapped back into attention and flared her nostrils, smelling a distant, smoky scent. yep. fire. quickly, falcon lifted her head of the grass, turning her half-narrowrd dark eyes to the source. the northern fangwing forest was beginning to go up in flames. the swiftwing rolled her eyes, ducking back down and running silently after the others as they began to reach camp. fangwings were probably the most idiotic of the tribes. no common sense about them. they were ruthless, and didn't care how they got their prey. swiftwings, on the other hand, were perfect hunters. coordinated, silent, stealthy. falcon let a ghost of a smile cross over her face as the grass become less frequent, the ground becoming drier. they were reaching the border between the desert and the plains. ahead was a large hill, covered in thin but lush trees that concealed their camp. the other three packmates went on ahead, but falcon paused, lifting her head as she heard faint voices. her eyes fell on raptor, the tribe leader, and a brightly-colored dragon near him. a venomwing, presumably also the tribe leader. she ran her tongue along her fangs, ducking and slipping silently toward the two, climbing in a spiral up a tree high above them. apparently she hadn't been seen as falcon gripped a sturdy branch, her dark coloring helping to conceal herself. she was now close enough to hear clearly, and came in just as the venomwing said "trust me; you'll want to hear this." curious, falcon gripped the bark tighter, leaning in slightly.

Wake up. Yes, that was what Pharaoh needed to do. He needed to wake up... How did one wake up again? The only thing he wanted to do was reach for those swirling shapes... But he needed to wake up. Opening your eyes! Or in his case, his eye... But how did you do THAT? He was dimly aware that he was breathing, and although it was fuzzy, he vaguely remembered how to do it... It would come back to him eventually...

The SwiftWing leader clacked his fangs together in warning, and the VenomWing leader obeyed, backing up a bit. "I tire of you games," he snarled. "Do not play them with me," She merely nodded, the grin fading a bit, but regardless, she continued as though nothing had happened.

"One of my scouts came back not long ago with a very interesting report," she continued. "So incredibly interesting, in fact, that if she's lying, death is punishable. But of course, I trust Acid, like I trust anyone else." Raptor nodded for her to get on with it. "She claims to have seen mainlanders." Dead silence. Every muscle in Raptor's body stood rigid, his mind whirling, while the leader wondered what he was thinking.

Mainlanders! He had only heard stories about them, about how they were the monsters that had driven them from their real home and forced them to live on this damn island. Growing up, Raptor had loathed them. He had plans to storm Pyrrhia, if he could ever figure out how to organize the rest of the tribes and figure out where the mainland actually was. Nobody from that time was still alive to tell them, and nobody had ever told their dragonets where it was... But now...

"How many?" Raptor demanded, a dangerous look in his yellow eye.

"She claimed that there were two, although they were chased away by FangWings." Raptor scowled. Nothing escaped them, that was for sure. "Although I have put Acid on the case. If there are those two, there is a strong chance there will be others. Many of my scouts are currently out looking. I've already contacted the CurrentWing leader. He claims that he has not seen one of his hunters for about twenty-four hours now."

    "No kidding?"

"It seems not. If he has gone rogue, however, death will be the punishment. Perhaps we finally have a chance at going home." Raptor didn't reply at first. Perhaps they did...

"I will alert the rest of my scouts. In the meantime, try to get ahold the WindWings and the FangWings, and see if you can get the leader to punish those that attacked them. We want them alive... For now." The VenomWing leader nodded, then turned and lunged into the nearest tree, disappearing.
