Sparrowkit got bored of sitting by her father, so she got up and started to follow Dandelionkit's pawprints in the snow. She sneakily entered the den and tried to sneak towards the pig pile of herbs. She had spotted a yellow thing with a weird liquid on it which she wanted to investigate it.

Patchfrost ignored the two, his ears splayed, his eyes half-lidded and unfocused. He breathed irregular, raspy breaths. He was laying down with his head up and his paws tucked under his chest.

"No." Dewdrop said simply, picking her up. He padded outside and dropped her down in the snow. "Now stay here." He would've brought her to Cloudgaze but her mother was probably hurting and didn't need him telling her that her daughter was getting into trouble.

Sparrowkit smiled to herself when Dewdrop didn't notice her and was now close enough to the yellow thing to touch it. She sniffed it, and it actually smelled a lot better than the other things in the den. She figured that if it smelled good it tasted good, and she licked a tiny bit of the gooey liquid off it up. It tasted amazing! She continued to lick up more of the liquid as fast as she possible could.

Dandelionkit huffed, then decided that if she couldn't be in the medicine den, she would freeze until the cat named Sick came after her.
