Adderstrike bowed his head, trying to calm the queen with a comforting lick to her ears. "You're a good mother. You can't fix Bluekit, but you can help Briarkit and Waterkit."

"I can't help Waterkit... I've tried." She whispered. "And Briarkit doesn't even talk!" She said louder.

Gingerface purred. "It tastes delicious!"

[cardboardteeth]

"They're newborn, Mistyclaw. They're not even a moon yet. They will grow up to be wonderful cats," Adderstrike soothed her. "You can't perfect everything. At least, not yet."

[PopcornWaffle]

"I just want them to lead a good life." She whispered.

[cardboardteeth]

"When you're their mother and Pikeflower is their father, they will," Adderstrike meowed, smiling. "I know it." He placed his long tail on her shoulders in a hopefully comforting manner.

Icepaw
"Mhmm." Icepaw murmured her agreement before going back to drinking. Eventually she had her fill of water so she sat up to look around.

Tinykit
Tinykit hissed again after he was ignored. He swiped at one of Adderstrike's legs with unsheathed claws to try and scare him away from the den. Of course, the young kit's claws probably wouldn't do any real damage if he even managed to hit the older cat.

"Hey. Stop that," Adderstrike meowed, looking down. He was surprised by this new kit. "Is this one of Cloudgaze's?" he asked.

Briarkit wiggled uncomfortably, feeling unhappy. He had tried talking! He had tied very hard...

Mistyclaw nodded. "I'm sorry. You can go back to what you were doing." Mistyclaw chuckled at Tinykit. "Indeed. He is a feisty one."

"Ahhh." Gingerface said (made noise?) after he had his fill. "Want to get moving again, mate?"

"Ah," Adderstrike meowed. "I can stay, if you'd like. You seem to be lonely often," he added.

"No it's fine. It looked like you were talking to somebody." Mistyclaw replied right away.
