Smokepaw, he restated in his brain before sitting down and allowing his tail to curl around his forepaws. "Yeah, I am," he said in a rather shocked voice, not knowing that his presence was even known outside of his clan; other than Shadedclan's own medicine cat. "So... Is your clan doing fine?" A rather touchy topic to get started on at the moment, even though they were at a gathering.

"err, We are doing fine." She said looking at the ground. She wasnt really sure, they had just had a battle with their rival clan, Swallowpaws clan. "Yours?" She asked its was a odd topic to talk about with a cat from another clan.

"Yeah... we're doing good," which wasn't true, being that they had lost so many members of the clan, but it was better to not admit defeat, especially to a cat that his clan had just fought against. To be fair, the whole fight seemed rather pointless, as neither clan had gained anything.

Smokepaw nodded slightly. She wasn't really sure what to say. Swallowpaw had something about him that made him easier to talk to, it felt odd. She knew it was unnatural for her clan mates to see that she was casually talking to a Alpineclan cat. The silence was awkward.

Swallowpaw's tail twitched anxiously. He had no idea on something to say, as everything in his head just sounded like a horrible idea. "It's a rather nice night out... isn't it..." He finally said.

"Err.. Yeah." She said looking at the sky. this is awkward. She thought shuffling her paws.

⇨ The molly smirked lightly to herself. She had successfully come to the gathering without Starlingwhisker calling her out in front of everyone for going. Even though she knew Loststar basically called for her to go, she was still proud for being able to avoid the slippery medicine cat. Starlingwhisker was like a shadow, always sliding around silently. He had a hot temper and short temper span, but he could hold his tongue real well. She snorted to herself lightly, and got to her paws from her position on a small rock. She leaped gracefully off it, and trotted into the mass of socializing cats. The apprentices were the most chatty she notice, and chuckled lightly to herself. Thats when she spotted it. The flash of bright white fur. She cocked her head to one side, and followed to whisps of white fur until she found the owner. It was Sheeptail. She smiled lightly, and trotted over to him, smiling lightly "Sheeptail! How are you?" She chirped happily as she walked towards her friend. She knew she wasn't supposed to get to friendly with AlpineClans cats, but she couldn't help it; He just had this air to him that made her wanna speak with him about everything. He listened to her rants at gatherings, and appreciated her opinion. To her, he was someone she wanted to get to know much better, but sadly the warrior code restricted that.

She sat down beside him, wrapping her tail around her paws as she awaited his reply. She found herself admiring his eyes. They were the prettiest shade of green. She smiling a bit wider as she gazed silently at him, her ears angling right towards him. Honestly, he had her full attention. She usually didn't have a very large attention span, always drifting off into her own little world. Her tail tip twitched slightly, tilting her head to one side, her sky blue eyes sparkling with interest.

⇨ He paced back and forth silently, thoughts running through his head like a rapid river. Where was Mapleleaf? She should be here! It was the duty of a medicine cat. He growled lowly to himself. Thats when he spotted her apprentice, Swallowpaw. He stopped his pacing, and strode towards the apprentice, his tail twitching impatiently behind him "Swallowpaw!" He called out to the apprentice. When Starlingwhisker reached the apprentice, he noticed Smokepaw. Starlingwhisker narrowed his eyes slightly "Swallowpaw, I need to speak with you. Alone" He added in a slightly worried tone, glaring towards Smokepaw. He summoned the apprentice to follow him with his tail, and walked off towards the corner were he had been pacing. When he made sure they were alone, he looked towards the young apprentice "Swallowpaw, were is Mapleleaf?"

The words rolled off his tongue quickly. Starlingwhisker looked like he was in a dead panic, but in reality he just worried for his fellow medicine cats health. Mapleleaf was a very persistent cat and always came to the gatherings. Starlingwhisker had found a real friendship in the molly, but it was nothing more than that. Starlingwhisker stayed true to his title and only remained friends with the molly. He flicked his tail back and forth, awaiting the young toms answer. He hoped it wasn't serious, Swallowpaw would be so flustered and cram packed with work, all the stress wouldn't be good for him. Many said Starlingwhisker had a heart of steel, never really caring very deeply about others unless they were hurt, but in all honestly Starlingwhisker worried for his medicine cat companions, they really were the only other ones who understood him.

⇨ He sat near Sparkpaw and Cloudpaw at the gathering, his gaze dancing from cat to cat. He flicked his ears slightly, his tail swaying gently behind him. Thats when he spotted the apprentices from the other clan. He smiled lightly "Im gonna go see the other apprentices!" He chirped, and sprung to his paws, bounding towards the other apprentices. When he neared them, however, he began walking with more grace, and smirked when he saw Mousepaw pad off and leave his sister alone, looking slightly frightened to be on her own. He smirked, and stopped in front of her. She tried to look brave, but he knew that he frightened her slightly with his large size "My, whats a pretty molly like you doing on your own?" He purred, and enjoyed the look of confusion on her face. His eyes lit up as he watched her stutter out a thank you, and he smiled slightly. He glanced backwards to see Sparkpaw and Cloudpaw, and felt guilty for flirting with someone right in front of them, but he couldn't just stop now.

"Thanks for what? A pretty molly like yourself should be complimented everyday" He chuckled, and glanced towards Sparkpaw and Cloudpaw. He knew he shouldn't be flirting with Fawnpaw, but he couldn't help it. It was who he was. He was never interested in her in the first place, besides, Sparkpaw was the one who had captured his heart truly. Before Fawnpaw could stutter out more words, her brother, Mousepaw, walked over and sat down in front of him and his friends. Fawnpaw slunk away behind her brother, and Acornpaw snorted. When Mousepaw suggested he shouldn't be flirting with mollies from different clans, he laughed "Trust me, I had no intention on falling in love with her" He purred, and his ears twitched slightly when Mousepaw asked how it was going in ShadedClan "Its going well" Acornpaw meowed, narrowing his eyes slightly.

⇨ She shook her head as her brother nudged her shoulder, urging her to go over and speak with the ShadedClan apprentices. To her, they were big and bulky, always waiting to pounce on her if she wasn't paying attention. She shuddered slightly at the thought, and she started freaking out inwardly as Acornpaw, Sparkpaw and Cloudpaw started padding towards them. She gulped, and caught her brother eyes when he glanced behind him and saw the other AlpineClan apprentices. She sighed, and nodded gingerly, facing the ShadedClan apprentices boldly. Well, as boldly as she could muster. Acornpaw approached her with confidence, and smirked "My, what's a pretty molly like you doing on your own?" Acornpaw purred, and Fawnpaw instantly shrunk back, surprise alight on her face at Acornpaw's sudden compliment. If she didn't have fur, her face would be as red as Deathberries "O-Oh, thank you, Acornpaw.." She stuttered, her tail-tip flicking nervously.

"Thanks for what? A pretty molly like yourself should be complimented everyday" The ShadedClan tom purred, making her become even more flustered as to what to say. She flicked her ears nervous, and silently thanked StarClan when her brother padded over and sat right in front of Acornpaw. She silently slunk behind her brother, sighing heavily. She probably would have exploded if Acornpaw continued. Fawnpaw wasn't one to get compliments often, since she always pushed away toms that tended to speak with her. She was the same with other mollies. Basically she pushed everyone away except her mentor, brother and close friends. She sighed as she listened to the two toms speak, looking behind her to see Mountainpaw and Jackdawpaw. They had been friends for a while, and she found herself abnormally close to Mountainpaw. She knew she usually rejected most toms, but Mountainpaw was a close friend of hers, always sticking up for her. She smiled lightly at the spot, and continued listening to the two toms speak, thinking silently to herself.

⇨ He was nudging his shoulder against his sisters as his sister shyly looked towards the ShadedClan apprentices. Mousepaw knew that Fawnpaw was always intimidated by them for some reason. Maybe it was because one seconds they cold be nice and cheerful, but the next second they could be shredding you to pieces. Mousepaw scoffed at that idea, and saw that flirt of a tom, Acornpaw, striding towards them with some of his companions. Mousepaw snickered lightly at Acornpaw as he reached them, and suddenly glanced towards Jackdawpaw, who was with her brother, Mountainpaw. He felt his heart flare as he looked at the eager young molly, and smiled lightly to himself. He glanced towards his sister to make sure she was alright with being left alone with Acornpaw and the other ShadedClan apprentices, and when she nodded gingerly, he trotted towards his friends "Hello, Jackdawpaw! Mountainpaw!" He purred, sitting down beside his fellow AlpineClan apprentices. He sat right beside Jackdawpaw, and glanced behind him towards Acornpaw and Fawnpaw.

"I left my sister with the ShadedClan apprentices. I think Acornpaw might be flirting with her. You wanna come and talk to them with me?" He asked, glancing down at his paws before looking up again and glancing towards Jackdawpaw. He gave her a lopsided grin and got to his paws "Ill be waiting over there with my sister for you guys if you are interested" he purred, and trotted back over towards his sister and the ShadedClan apprentices. As he guessed, Acornpaw was making his sister flustered, and he could tell she as blushing under her fur "Sorry to intrude, but I am pretty sure it is against the warrior code to flirt with other clan cats" Mousepaw meowed, sitting down beside his sister, who sheepishly slunk behind him. He laughed lightly, and turned to the others "How's life in ShadedClan?" He asked, glancing behind him to make sure Mountainpaw and Jackdawpaw made up their minds.

⇨ The molly perched on her spot in the clearing, her gaze sweeping over all the gathered cats. She inhaled deeply, her ears twitching slightly as he gaze landed on Loststar. She felt herself stiffen slightly as she watched him limp slightly, but shook it off instantly. She couldn't think about this now, in front of everyone. The cats she had bring along, which were all the apprentices, Sheeptail, Ivywing, Cougarheart, Whisperleap and Stagstep. She sighed, and glanced towards Loststar again. Neither one of them had spoken, so she decided to start the conversation "Hello, Loststar." She murmured, her bright gaze lingering on him for a few moments before once again sweeping across the assembled cats "I assume your warriors are doing well after the battle" She meowed, her ears twitching slightly. In all honestly she was glad to be in his presence again, it made her calm and relaxed. She knew she shouldn't feel that way, but she couldn't help it. Not one bit. She shuddered lightly at the thought, and looked back towards him, awaiting his response.

By the look of his clan mates, they were doing fine. She looked towards the medicine cats, and saw Swallowpaw speaking with a Shadedclan apprentice. She narrowed her eyes slightly, but then turned her gaze towards Starlingwhisker. The tom looked slightly troubled, as if looking for something. Mapletail she instantly knew the answer. The Alpineclan medicine cat had been terribly ill, and was not able to come. The last thing Dawnstar wanted was to loose her medicine cat right after they lost their deputy. Dawnstar hadn't even been thinking about who to choose for deputy, since her mind had been so fogged with doubt lately. She huffed, her tail flicking slightly in anticipation.

"Oh," he looked to Smokepaw with a sorry look before going to talk to Starlingwhisker. "Mapleleaf's fine, don't worry, she's just caring for the injured." He shuffled his paws around out of anxiousness. "... Anything else?"

lilytail sat in the corner, were she had her own space. she watched with narrowed eyes as the clans started to socialize with each other. even though at gatherings the clans were to drop any hatred to one another, lilytail couldn't help but not want to talk to any cat from alpineclan, as they had killed their deputy. she flicked her tail, her eyes going to where loststar and dawnstar were. the expecting shecat wished for the gathering to be over, but she held her tongue. in the corner where she was nobody dared to talk to her. she was known to snap easily, which was true, and she often scolded many cats, but she wasn't sad about this, she liked having her own space. she longed to gossip with someone, but she didn't feel like starting conversation. the molly loved to talk with volewhisker, he amused her, but they could relate with aches and pains, lilytail hoped that he would be able to see her kittens, though she doubted he wouldn't be able to. she considered volewhisker a friend, she liked helping him out.

the white tom turned around to see vixentail. he gave a small nod to greet her. "i've been good, what about you?" he asked, worry in his voice as he looked at his crush's scratches that lined up on her pelt. sheepfoot was always nice to her, trying to get her attention, and when he saw the interest sparkling in her eyes he blushed suddenly, a deep rosy pink dotted his cheeks. sheepfoot hoped that he could get closer to the female, but he longed to stay true to his clan. how is it wrong though, having a crush on a cat from a different clan isn't wrong, but it isn't easily and i guess that starclan doesn't approve of it very much. being mates with a different clan cat, now that could be considered wrong. he thought, trying to justify his emotions towards the pretty feline.

xxxxxxxx♦ His throat seemed to hitch when his sweeping gaze landed on Dawnstar. His eyes wandered on her greyish-cream spotted and dappled pelt that seemed to mix with the white just perfectly, in his mind. He shook his thoughts clean, at least tried, as the rivaling leader leapt to sit by him. It was incredibly quiet. The silence and awkwardness almost gave him chills that made his back leg twitch with pain, until she finally spoke. He regretfully looking into her bright, sky-blue gaze and had to force his look away just so he didn't melt right then and there into her frame. As he looked away and into the pool of clan cats swarming everywhere, he composed himself and put on a rock solid face. His head dipped in a nod as she asked. "Dawnstar." he spoke in an almost icy cold greeting, though he really didn't mean it to come out like that. "My cats are mostly fine. Some better than others, though that is to be expected." He mewed in a monotone voice that seemed like it would be cold to the touch.

He let his eyes wander some more before returning his forest-green gaze to Dawnstar. It was cold and frigid though there was something behind it. Something much deeper that he wanted to deny so bad. Longing... Passion... Love. There was no denying it. He seemed to get lost in his daze, memories of when they first became leaders, they met only a few short times. Around 5 or 6 near the boarder. They had a blast when they did these meet ups. They would sit around for hours doing nothing but looking at the fireflies and talking about nothing. But it had ended in a cold lash out from him-himself. After it almost went to far, he said some choice words and growled a little to much and caused their meetings to end for the better of their clans. They were leaders after all. It'd possibly be different if they were just warriors or even deputies but leaders? I leader loving another leader is almost unheard of. It was tear the two clans apart and cause them to be exiled or worse. His mind continued to wander as he unknowingly stared off at Dawnstar.

His heart fluttering slightly and ached, wishing that he could be her protector one day. Wait, I can do that right now can't I? he thought in his mind and flicked his tail for Jackdawpaw to follow him over to the other apprentices. He made his way over and nestled down in a spot that was fairly close to Fawnpaw. He let his tail sweep over to an almost protective looking movement that brushed against her paw. "Back off, Acornpaw." he muttered and his sister chimed in. She was sitting next to Mousepaw. Her eyes narrowed and a sharp glare in her eye. "Your little games aren't funny, Acornpaw. Why don't you go and drop some of your little catchphrases on your she-cats in your clan." she muttered. "I swear Sparkpaw, Cloudpaw, I don't know how you are able to put up with that tom 24/7." she mewed that ended up in a light-hearted laugh.
