"Hm. Maybe you should try getting a fox. You would surely be made a warrior!" Gingerpaw laughed.

"Well then I'd die." Rustpaw reasoned. "And I kinda like living."

"Sounds like a good excuse." Gingerpaw teased. He finished grooming her and started grooming himself. He was a mess. "Do you think it's awkward that we like each other?" Gingerpaw asked, sighing.

"I don't know..." Rustpaw sighed. "It's just a crush though, I'm sure it'll only last a moon."

Gingerpaw felt disappointed crowd his feeling. Why was he feeling this way? He was only an apprentice! He probably won't even become a warrior anyway. "Ah."

Rustpaw realized what she had said. "I mean, maybe it wont, I just..." She sighed. "I don't know, I just don't wanna deal with this as an apprentice."

"Me neither." Gingerpaw agreed. "Maybe when we're warriors."
