"Never!" Rustpaw dashed in the other direction. She wasn't about to die at the hands of this tom.

Leopardstripe noticed Rustpaw's absence and went to find her. He trudged through the forest, still upset about losing his best friend. He caught Rustpaw's scent and started following it eagerly. He needed to figure out why she was gone.

Leopardstripe came to a clearing and saw a tom hassling Rustpaw. He growled deeply. "Who are you?"

"My name is Shadefall, and I come in peace." He glared at the apprentice. "She was not answering simple questions. Do you not teach discipline?"

Leopardstripe stood in front of the cat that was hurting Rustpaw. "What was that question?" Leopardstripe bared his teeth.

"Her name and what clan this was." He answered simply.
