Aspenfern sniffed the air and raised his tail in approval when he breathed in the scent of mouse. He followed the trace until he saw a small bundle of grey fur huddling on the ground. Its belly was swollen, it was pregnant. Aspenfern stepped back, not wanting to harm the creature. If we get that, so should they. He travelled across the grass, bounding across it in long strides. His solid build was obvious during Leaf-Bare, but now in Greenleaf, he could mask himself among the trees and the brambles. He crouched down, spotting a gentle robin picking at the ground. He noticed a flicker to the side of it, and saw Coalblaze stalking towards it. Aspenfern sat in amazement and watched him hunt with adoration. He watched his pupils dilate as they followed the robin across the ground, he gazed upon the settled fur across his back and stared at the flicker of his tail to keep himself balanced. Aspenfern, though completely infatuated, tore his eyes away and tried walking the other way, when he almost stood on a stick. "Agh, I'm so mouse-brained," he muttered. He turned around and sat back down on his hindquarters to watch Coalblaze again. At least I'm making less noise this way.

Coalblaze's ears flickered as they heard Aspenfern move around quietly, but the rest of him was entirely focused on the robin. Figuring he was close enough, he sprang towards the robin swiftly, claws outstretched. It tried to take flight, but the cat's paws pinned its tail feathers to the forest floor and stopped its escape before Coalblaze bit down on it in one smooth motion. The bird's struggle ended quickly, and the warrior relaxed before glancing over at his one- cat audience and speaking sternly. "Can I help you?"

"Hang around them?, I don't! They looked like foxes!" She watched as Aspenfern jumped away she looked back at the loners "Ok, why are you here"

Aspenfern immediately slunk back and bundled into a cat ball. He stared up at Coalblaze, "I th-think we found the same bird, but I noticed you were catching it so..." he looked down at the floor. His heart was beating faster than he could cope, and he stood up and turned the other way. "I'm sorry for interrupting your hunt..." Aspenfern walked away with his head slumped down to his shoulders, defeated, heading back to camp. The night is falling, afterall.

"Hey, you're weren't interrupting it as such... It's just not every day I get an audience." Coalblaze answered, picking up the robin and padding after Aspenfern. He'd only seen Aspernfern a few times around camp, but had never really talked to him- he seemed like he wasn't exactly a social butterfly. Looking for a conversation topic, Coalblaze paused before asking "So... uh, did you catch anything? If you were hunting, that is."
