Diego rolled his eyes at her.
"Everyone judges people they meet instantly, subconsciously. It's part of human nature, like animals sizing each other up. It gives you some idea what you're up against."
Vaten sniggered. *Very good, Professor Akume!*
Diego, getting some inkling of the Oshawott's thoughts, smacked at him playfully.

Ryouki
Ryouki looked resigned.
"But what if it's not enough? What if Yuki wants more than that?"

[Balsam]

Jordan huffed. "I didn't mean it that way. Did you judge me so harshly?"

Lukas crawled onto Jordan's lap quietly.

William
"Oh, trust me, she does. She always has." William chuckled. "Have you not noticed? Ever since we left Minden Town she's had the largest crush on you. But you know Yuki as well as I do. She'll give up on something that's absolutely hopeless. And she'll bounce back from being upset rather quickly."

[Darkanra]

"I did not judge her harshly, I was simply saying that she is rather... loud."
Diego looked coolly back at Jordan, face a mask.
*Awkward...*

Ryouki
Ryouki looked away.
"I hope you're right. I don't want to hurt her."

[Balsam]

Jordan blinked at him with a deadpan expression. "... She is, um, an announcer for a large stadium full of people. It's kind of her job to be loud."

Lukas looked at Vaten. *Most certainly.*

William
"You won't." William said reassuringly. "She may get upset but she'll get over it quickly. Now, feel lucky you didn't have to deal with Lucinda," the man sighed melodramatically. "She still acts under the assumption she and I are dating, you know? Try dealing with that."

[Darkanra]

Diego pulled a face.
"Not what I meant."

Ryouki
Despite himself, Ryouki snickered.
"What happened to the rules?"

[Balsam]

Jordan folded her arms. "I just don't think it's a fair assessment of her character."

William
"Lucinda doesn't care about rules." William chuckled. "We never even dated, though."

Yuki
Yuki approached William, dressed for the Showcase; she dressed in blue and white traditional robes, with the accompanying sandals. Her hair was in a ponytail, swaying along behind her. "William," she called, not seeing Ryouki. "William, could you help me with something before the Showcase starts?"

[Darkanra]

Diego just looked away, chin on his hand.

Ryouki
Ryouki ducked his head.

[Balsam]

Jordan looked away as well.

*Oh, this journey can't end well...* Lukas sighed.

William
"... Yuki, come here first." William said. He looked at Ryouki. "Deal with this now, before you have too long to think about it."

Yuki
Yuki stopped beside William. "Yes?" She blinked. She saw Ryouki and smiled. "Hey, Ryouki. I was thinking you wouldn't show up!"

[Darkanra]

Ryouki
Ryouki couldn't look Yuki in the eye.
"Yuki... I love you like a sister and I'd do pretty much anything for you, if it's in my power..."
Ryouki smiled slightly, sorrow in his red eyes.
"But you need to turn your affections to someone more deserving and who will be able to return your feelings... I can't. I'm sorry."
Ryouki stood abruptly and quickly walked out without looking at either Yuki or William. Outside, he called out his Altaria and flew off.

[Balsam]

William
"... Off he goes, eh?" He looked at Yuki,but was surprised to see she was... Laughing? "Y-Yuki?"

Yuki
Yuki continued to laugh despite the tears that fell down her cheeks. She wiped the tears away as she laughed. "I always knew it was hopeless,y'know? ... Ryouki didn't deserve to need to do any of this. If you see him, please tell him I'm sorry." Yuki headed off. "I still must perform."
