"Fatal," he replied,"He told me to tell you that he was sorry you couldn't have pups together."

"You're lying," Kaldaka said in shock, tears creeping out of her eyes. "Why are you lying like this?" she asked as she began to cry.

[Ser'reth]

"I wish I were, but its the truth," his eyes turned to Jane. "I'm sorry," he said to both of them.

"No! You're lying," Kaldaka cried out and then ran off, sobbing.

Jane hid her face in her coat, tears streaming down his cheeks. She whinned softly and continued crying.

[Ser'reth]

Knite sighed quietly, then stood and scooped up Jane. He headed back to the lake.

Jane whimpered and watched the snow. She cried and let her tail drop as Knite carried her.

Knite set Jane down by the lake. His thoughts were elsewhere.

Thorn ears pricked at the sound of sobs. He looked around and saw Kaldaka, tears streaming from her eyes. "What now?" he muttered to himself as he approached her.
