"Not too far if we hurry." Burk replied and sniffed at the air. "The pack is probably all back there so --" Burk froze and cocked an ear in the direction of the howl that split the silent open air. It was obviously Deter's and it was calling for the alpha. Shuin was apperantly not at camp...where had he gone? Burk looked worried however at the sound of Deter's howl. There was worry in there and rarely did Deter ever get worried about something. He was all tought and ready to fight on the outside and was tough on the in, but he still had a soft side wolves rarely saw. Burk picked up on it right away and that was part of the reason why he liked Deter, that he was still friendly deep down inside. For him to be worried though...a warrior and beta of the pack, it frightned Burk and caused his body to shake visably. "That's not good...that's not good...not good at all! Come, we must head to the pack, something is wrong!" The fear was evident in his voice as he took off towards the pack at full speed but still making sure Rose could follow him easily. With the straight all out run towards the dens, it didn't take too long to reach them and come bursting through the snow to come to a stop at the camp. "What's wrong Deter? Wh--" Burk immediately froze in place as his eyes locked onto the new wolf. His head hung low and his tail went limp. Another new wolf, one he didn't know yet. His whole body language changed from worry and energetic to shy and quiet.

Deter turned his head as the wolves burst through the snow and his eyes locked onto Burks'. He smirked when Burk shut himself down like he always did with something new. He couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor guy. "This is Evorine, she's joined our pack. Evorine, that's Burk, our lead scout and explorer and the fun fluffball tailing him is Rose, another new addition. All in the same day too, what are the chances?" Deter grinned a toothy grin towards Rose. Oh how he was going to love teasing and messing with Rose. To Deter, that was how he usually bonded with new wolves. Teased and messed with them until he was more comfortable around them and relaxed. Rose was no different or had any immunity to such a thing. In fact, the only one to ever escape such a treatment was Evorine. Why? Deter didn't quite know yet but he was aiming to find out.

Rose nodded quickly, bolting after Burk. She easily kept up, wanting to go faster but now knowing the way she had to settle for following. The two wolves had speed through the forest, brambles and thorns catching onto their thick, winter fur.
As soon as Rose saw Deter, she tensed up. Frowning, though not letting Deter see, she stood off to the side of Burk just a little behind him. Rose wasn't a wolf known to show much emotion, she never had been very open to others. She was more of the Suffer-In-Silence kind of wolf. Rose hated Deter's teasing, it was just like the puphood she had been running from. The one who wasn't always left out, the who always seemed to do something wrong. She'd never belong in this pack, she'd never belong anywhere. Why bother anymore? It'd be easier to just curl up under some trees and give up the will to live any longer.

Evorine stood close Deter,almost as if using him for a shield from the others.She frowned a bit,the male who had just arrived with the female called Rose,he had shrunk back when he saw her.It upset her,she didn't want to create tension in the pack.She had also noticed,Deter treated her differant than the others,first thing he had made a snarky remark to the one called Rose.It puzzled her,but she didn't mind him treating her differant than the others,she felt...proud,or more superior at least.Evorine shivered suddenly with the falling snow building up,at least 3 inches by now.She felt tired and worn out,she sat down, her muscles relaxing and unknotting slowing."I wish Shuin would hurry!It is so very awkward...." She looked Rose over,she was a average wolf,not any intrest to her what so ever.She sighed softly and looked into the distance.

Shuin bounded across the snow in time to arrive at the dens just as Bella and Winder found their ways back. It never surprised Shuin anymore when the others came to a call specifically meant for the alpha. He couldn't blame them, they were as much as family then just pack members. They truely had to be if they were to survive out in this horrid wilderness of icey death. Since everyone was here, Shuin waisted no time in finding out what had worried his beta. Walking over to Deter he sat down and nodded to for him to start talking.

"Evorine and I found traces of a rogue on the edge of our territory." Deter spoke with a tone that was well practised into making sure no one could read emotions from it. Sighs and groans could be heard from the other pack members as the information finally came out into the light.

"How long, gender?" Shuin questioned as the sighs died down.

"Hour ago, male..." Deter replied with a far off look in his eyes.

"But what?" Shuin asked as he could see that his beta wanted to say something else on his mind.

"But it was off. He didn't come into our territory, didn't come to eat our food.The minute he smelled us he turned hide and ran as fast as he could. What rogue does that Shu?" Deter replied, his tone dropping for a confused and worried one though he knew the answer already.

"A smart one hopefully." Sheela interjected with a deep frown.

"Either that or one that's with a pack. I want all of us on high alert for the next week or so. No one goes off alone and you report any scents, sounds, or anything that looks suspicious. If it's a rival pack, you get back to the dens immediately. Call to us the minute you have something though, it'll get us time to prepare before you get back to the dens. Winder and Bella, stay in camp at all times. We'll bring you food when we can. This way there will always be someone at camp for us whenever we come back. By the way everybody, this is Evorine, our second newest member. Make friends and play nice because she is another good addition to this pack. In fact, Evorine and Rose, I want you two to be on hunting and scouting along with Sheela. Deter, Burk and I will patrol the territory lines for as long as we can. Our jobs will start tomorrow, but for now we rest for the night is almost upon us." Shuin made his orders clear before he rose back up and slowly made his way to the entrance of one of the caves and lay down, his head resting against his paws. He'd be here for most of the night, keeping an eye out for any intruders that would dare mess with his pack. The huge inner sanctum of where the caves connected was where the wolves stayed for the night, at least most of the time. It was where they all talked and laughed and joked and hung out until they got too tired and had to fall asleep. It was nice in the inner sanctum and Shuin loved the peace inside. The rival pack threatened that peace and therefore he wouldn't join the others for a while yet and so he sat outside by himself as the others milled about.

Deter wasn't sure whether he should grin evilly at the fact that a pack might come in and he could slaughter them all, or he should frown because a pack was coming in and it could harm his own before they kicked them out. A rival pack hasn't come around here for generations and now the threat of one loomed and Deter wasn't sure how he should take it. His eyes watched as Winder, Sheela and Bella slowly made their way inside the caves to lay down in the innersanctum. Burk sat next to Rose loyally which made Deter smirk a little before he noticed he hadn't left Evorine's side either. Another thing to be added to the confusion. "Evorine, If you follow me I can show you our dens if you want. The inner cave thing is huge and it's where we often sleep after we talk and mess around." Deter grinned and nodded towards one of the cave entrances, the one next to where Shuin always seemed to enter. It made him feel important to be the only one to go through that cave entrance and the fact that it was next to the alphas. In reality however, cave entrances weren't all that important among pack structure.

Burk looked worried and leaned towards Rose to whisper, "The new wolf doesn't look so bad. If you want I can take you to the inner room, it's where we all sleep and have fun. I worry about Shu during times like this, he's off on his lonesome but it's his own choice I guess. Bet he would like some company sometime." Burk pondered outloud, or really whispered outloud before his demeaner changed to carefree as his tail wagged.

Rose smiled softly at Evorine as the new wolf turned away. She didn't want to be the one hunting, especially with Sheela, she seemed to dislike Rose. Turning to look at Burk she nodded softly. She knew she wouldn't sleep well her first night here, maybe the soft chatter would help relax her. Rose hoped she would get a little bit of sleep. It'd take her some time getting out of habits. She smiled at Shuin shyly before turning back to Burk, her lone friend. He was the only one kind enough to even talk to her, let alone be her friend. Rose could see that the others had taken a liking to Evorine quickly, unlike her.

Evorine started trotting after Deter,her spirits rising.The pack seemed to be taking to her quickly,and postitively."Uh...Sure?"She replied to Deter,then she continued talking,"So,Beta how do you like the other new female,Rose she is called,?"Evorine questioned,unsurely.She walked close to him thinking silently, "Im enjoying this pack,they all seem well manered,and accepting."She thought,observing proudly.She was getting very hungry,"Hey,uh,Deter one more thing,when do we eat?"She asked grinning at him.

"Come on then lets go." Burk told Rose and started off towards his favorite cave on the far right. Stopped at the entrance for Rose to follow before he bounded inside and his laughter echoed throughout the entire cave system. The others would already be sitting and laying near eachother and finding up things to talk about. This was the most social time the pack had when they weren't working to help them survive. Burk came into the inner sanctum with his tail wagging as he joined the group. He smiled back at Rose, inviting her into the circle that was starting to form with each wolf that joined them. There were a few rabbit kills that had been brought back just in case someone was hungry and the cave provided a natural cold water source that the wolves could drink from when they were thirsty.

Deter smirked when Evorine asked about whether he liked Rose or not. "What, that furball? She's a decent wolf so far, hasn't given us issues and even helped defend Burk which is probably why he's so attached to her. I like to tease her though." Deter replied as he started walking. Food? Did they manage to kill anything and bring it back? Winder and Bella usually did, they were good with bringing food back to the inner cave thingy so they probably did have food. "There's probably some rabbits or something inside the cave. Come on, we'll join everyone and you can snack on it while we all talk." Deter said and nodded to Shuin on his way into his cave. As he followed the cave and the winding tunnel, he soon came across the inner sanctum and the rest of the group. Rose and Burk had already joined them and the rest were all getting settled in a circle that wasn't quite complete yet. Deter motioned his head towards the four dead rabbits that were beside the water just a few feet away from the group. Deter settled into the half circle besides winder and left his right side open for when Evorine decided to join them. She'd be next to Burk when she settled in if she so chose too.

Winder and Bella began to whisper things inside their ears and giggle about things only known to them while Sheela just rolled her eyes and looked over to Rose. "I guess we're paired for hunting tomorrow. It'll give us a chance to get to know one another. Also a chance to tell you all the embarassing things about Deter and what you can use against the big lug." Sheela smiled broadly and laughed at Deter's expression.

"Hey! No telling the furball about me, she gets to learn on her own." Deter huffed with a frown.

"Of hush up ya big lug. No doubt you've been giving her a hard time. Ease up on her a little, you'll make the poor thing feel unwelcomed." Sheela scolded lightly and gave a smile towards Rose. Another wolf she could tell everything too, it wasn't such a bad idea after all. Sheela could get away with such light scolding because of how close they were, in any other case, Deter would have snapped at their disrespectfulness.

Rose jogged after Burk, frowning when she saw the large group of wolves. Settling a little ways away from the large group. As she layed down on the chilly, stone floor Rose smiled half heartedly. When Sheela had mentioned hunting tomorrow, she recieved a small nod. Rose wasn't in the mood for chatter. She could tell that the pack took a liking to Evorine easily. Sighing softly Rose let herself get lost in her thoughts, barely paying any attention to any of her so called packmates that had been around her.

Evorine sat down next to Deter happily,she had not expected the pack to warm up to her this easily,it was a mixed blessing."So,Beta,what now?"she had asked him when she had finished eating her meal.The brisk winter wind blew in through the cave's entrance,chilling the cavern instently.She sniffed the air taking in the smells of the enviting cave-dens.It made her feel accepted,and warm inside,something she wasn't quite use to.But she liked it,and silently,she wished they would sleep soon,for she was exausted with the days activities.

Burk frowned as he watched Rose seperate herself from the pack and sit down a bit of ways away from them. He dipped his head low and excused himself from the group. He padded his way over next to Rose and lay down without a word and placed his head on his paws. He couldn't abandon his new friend unless she wished his presence to be gone. Here he would lie until she decided otherwise. That's what friends were for right? Deter watched Burk's retreat with a smirk and shook his head. Sheela shot him a look that made him roll his eyes all the more. As long as someone was being her friend, why did he have to be? Of course deep down he admired her determination to stick with the pack and would call her a good ally, but who said she'd have to know all that? No one, that's who. He turned to Evorine with a smile and thought a bit to himself. "Well now would be the time...the two lovebirds would stop whispering things in each other's ears and focus on the group." Deter grinned as he saw Winders and Bella's expressions come to full alert and the sigh that followed.

"What should we do? Well I for one am interested in Evorine's life before meeting our wonderful pack." Winder said as he looked at Evorine. Winder was the curious sort with the kind of curiosity that could get himself killed one of these days.

"Yeah Evorine, what was your lavish lifestyle like?" Bella chimed in with a warm hearted smile.
