The group started walking and Shuin started feeling uneasy. Deter wasn't too happy and Naga seemed to want to push his buttons. He didn't like where he was seeing this head too. Deter on the other hand was enjoying the attention as Naga kept bumping into him. Deter started to bump right back into her and for now Rose was lost to the world as far as he was concerned. Naga wanted to play a little game that he was bored enough to play along with. "I'm so sorry Naga, I must be so tired to lose my footing." Deter said after mustering the best sincerest smile he could. Shuin just rolled his eyes as he watched to two's bumping fest. He knew Deter was a good wolf in the end, but he also knew his other side. The other side that craved power and control. That side of him was easy to keep in line once it knew it could be beaten. Shuin was the only one to have fought Deter one on one and won but that was a very long time ago and a memory that was best to stay hidden.

Shuin cast his gaze to Rose and smiled. "Don't worry about him, he's a real softy when you get to know him. He's just soar because he wasn't here to accept you in as well. Arnt you Deter?" Shuin cast the question back to his friend who was lagging with his bumping game.

"That's not true, she's just new is all." He replied and "accidentally" bumped into Naga again. "I'm so sorry my friend, forgive me?" he asked as innocently as he could and smiled.

Shuin just rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to Rose. "I'm happy to have you with us Rose, you'll be an asset to this pack for sure. If any of the others give you trouble, find me. I don't tolerate fightings within the group. The pack needs everyone to survive and getting along helps that. Even if you have to deal with Deter, he'd die to save your life or any one of ours." Shuin calmy spoke and smiled. He was proud of his pack and what they have accomplished. Now, they had another to add to that group and to help them out. Life seemed to be taking a nicer turn.

Rose smiled halfheartedly. “Thank you Shuin.” She replied softly, wanting to keep to herself until they warmed up to her. She hoped she wouldn't become a burden to the pack, that was the last thing they need in this harsh winter.
Sighing softly, Rose trailed behind Shuin, careful not to bump into Naga or Deter.
The trees were coated in a layer of ice, the branches sagging from the weight, as the iceicles glittered. The earth crisp and clean once more.
Rose looked back at the two everyonce in a while, just thinking to herself. She hated the snow ((And now the snow is suddenly deep. BAM!!)) when it was deep. Each step was a small battle as she trudged along tiredly.

Naga gets bumped by Deter " Oh no friend it was my fault for not looking here let me help you..." Bumps into him trying to make him fall " Oh dear i am so sorry Deter didnt mean to run into you guess i lost my balance for a moment and i ran into you." Smiles because it was funny to play around with him like this. She was starting to think she should do it more often between them.Like as something they only do together she would make a mental note on that and some other things...

Shuin smirked as he heard their conversation. He could swore if Deter opened up a little more, he and Naga might have something. But Deter was a tightlipped wolf, didn't like opening up so much to anyone. It was hard for him to even talk to Shuin and they had known each other for years. He was sure though that if Naga was ever persistant enough, Deter would probably cave in. Though he couldn't help but snicker to himself about what Naga was getting into with Deter if she thought about trying. The snow started to get deeper and deeper and as they walked their feet began to sink more and more. Their paws were specifically designed for staying on the surface of snow so they they had a better chance of walking through it then their prey did. That of course gave them an advantage Shuin liked to exploit. As the wind shifted suddenly it brought a new scent along with it. Shuin froze in midstep as his mind screamed "FOOD!". It was food alright and it was an elk of all things. The pack would feast tonight if they could bring it down. His whole body shifted as it lowered down to the ground and his keen eyes searched for its location. it wasn't anywhere in sight but he could pin point it by smell alone.

"Rose...how well are you at hunting?" His mind was racing and he figured that since she was still alive it was good enough but he didn't like to assume anything.

"Oh I'm so sorry Naga, I-" Deter bumped into Shuin on accident and recieved an angered growl for his bumblingness. Deter immeditaely lowered his own body as he smelled the elk and thought the same thing; Food.

"Deter, take Naga and circle around to the right, Rose take the left. He's going to bolt the second I come crashing through. I'll push him forward, make sure you three put a stop to his running as I will try my best as well. Everyone clear on the plan?" Shuin asked as he stalked foward slowly. He heard Deter grunt for a yes as he began to break away off to the right.

Rose nodded, not replying to his question. She padded quietly, heading to the left side of the elk. Lowering herself in a crouch as the muscles tensed in her strong legs, preparing for the hunt. Hiding herself behind the cover of some small bushes, making sure to keep out of the elk's sight. Wondering if they would be able to take the elk down. The elk was a good size considering the extremely harsh winter.

Naga nodded to Shuin and ran after Deter trying to catch up to him,Then she sees him and crouches next to Deter and waits until Shuin chases after the elk.

When the group was in position Shuin crept in as close as he could and laid eyes on the elk. It was strong and full of meat all for the taking. Somehow it had retained it's size and continued to find food as the winter had set in full force. Usually they were after the old or the weak but since food was scarce and times were desperate, they had to do what they must to survive. Taking on a fully grown elk was a task on its own, taking down one that seemed healthy...that was suicidal at best. They had to do it, living on hare alone wouldn't sustain the pack for long. Shuin watched as it nudged through the snow for anything to eat, its back facing him. His whole body tensed up for the perfect moment and then set off like a rocket towards his prey. The elk was stuned as the bushes exploded in a fury of black until something landed on its back and dug in. The elk flipped out and tore off through the forest. Shuin dug his claws in deep and tried to reach for the back of the neck but he started to slip off and dug his claws in more. The elk let out a sceam of pain as it tried to bronco Shuin off. The third time sent him flying through the air and landing in a pile of snow. He could hear Deter yelling as he circled the elk as fast as he could, confusing it as it tried to look for a route of escape.

"Naga, Rose, take it-" Deter froze in place as a different kind of scream echoed out. A flash of yellow spooked the elk as it started to run off. Shuin got up to see a cougar barely miss tackling the elk. Deter looked confused at what to do before the cougar decided to go after him instead. Stunned at how fast the cat moved, Deter was ready to be tackled when Shuin hit from the side and went tumbling with it through the snow.

"Take Naga and get that elk!" Shuin screamed as he rolled away from the cougar.

"What about you?!" Deter shouted back, giving a worried side glance to Naga.

"The pack needs that elk now go!" Shuin commanded and circled the cougar who started into the circle as well. Deter was distraught but motioned for Naga to join him as he started to chase down the elk.

Shuin circled with the cougar and eyed up his challenge. It was skinny but full of muscle and it seemed incredibly hungry. The winter had had its toll on all the preditors and this one was no exception. His mind was taking the cougar apart bit by bit. Where would he strike? What would happen if it hit him first? Questions wissed around in his head and he began second guessing himself. Could he do this? Could he win? He didn't count on Rose in this fight, but neither did the cougar which would ultimately lead to his downfall.

Naga chased after him as he ran after the Elk " Deter you can go for the front of the elk and i can go for the legs to trip it." She says as she runs ,Legs are pumping and her blood circulating to keep her energy up.After all this she would need to talk to Deter about her mental notes but she has to think of a way to ask him. she knows he is one of those guys that keeps to himself but she is willing to try to have him for herself.She thinks she is forming a crush on him but trys to keep it hidden.She focuses back on the elk.

Rose growled, lunging out of the bushes and racing after the elk. Her legs propelled her over the snow, keeping her close to the surface of it and not sinking down too deep. Rose pulls up along the side of the elk, careful to not get in the way of the others. Sprinting ahead she makes a quick lunge and grabs at the elk's neck. Biting down hard she could feel the warm blood seeping into her mouth. She had got the elk in a good spot. Letting go quickly she backed up, watching as blood poured from the elk's neck.
((gonna assume she the elk's jugular. lol))
