"I don't want to be an elder," Breezefur meowed. "I don't want to be old. I can never have kits again- I honestly wanted another litter."

"If I went with you.. can I still call them mama and papa? To me, they are," Tiny mewed quietly. He didn't want to go, really.

Birchfoot smiled. "She loves you. More than anything." He chuckled at his son. "Clan leaders don't sit on others!"

Breezefur nodded. "It is." She nudged at Dappleheart with her nose. "You'll be fine, I'm sure."

"Of course you can. If that's what makes you happy. I just want you to realize I really am your mother. I don't lie. You can meet your father soon, too."

*Snowfeet smiled a little.*

Dappleheart didn't know what to say, she had never had kits, never felt a motherly connection like Breezefur had. "I don't really know what to tell you, except to not worry too much about it. You'll always be spry and young at heart, and you will be able to see other kits and get to tell them stories about your warrior days."

Tiny blinked. "Can I still see them sometimes?" he asked. If she said no..

Breezefur shook her head. "I barely even see Birchtail and Wolfcall. I don't see Briar ever."

She let a sad mew escape her. "I hope he does" she meowed

"Yes. If you want. I don't like that, but I wouldn't hold you against that."

*Snowfeet sighed a little. Would Tinykit truly believe that she was his mother?*

"I could tell Birchtail that you should visit you more when you become an elder." Dappleheart suggested. She felt bad for the warrior, and wondered if she would ever express the same motherly love towards her own kits someday.
