cold. everything was so cold. the water pricked at her fur as she swam in the cold water, gasping each time water brushed deeper into her fur. the she-cat climbed out of the cold water with a mouth full of herbs, then shook out her short pelt free of water before shivering. the water was cold, or to briarpaw it was. the medicine cat apprentice wasn't the biggest fan of the water, or the cold, or anything cold. she had a bad encounter with water as a kit- but she soon got over the fear of trees (and water) by climbing a branch by the water as a dare...by deerpaw.

shivering once again, briarpaw stepped into camp with a mouthful of little yellow flowers- dandelions. their stock had gotten low after the last usage, and the apprentice figured she'd go on a little hunt on her own. tater awhile, she wasn't bothered and that was great. being the medicine cat apprentice put a lot of weight on her shoulders, especially always being tested. sighing, the apprentice set the dandelion down inside the medicine cat den before padding back into the clearing, where she padded to the fresh kill pile and picked up a sparrow before padding into a smaller area.

the molly licked her lips free of blood, she glanced around camp, hoping to find someone other then her mentor to talk to. after searching, she grew tired of it and huffed, her sights landing directly on deerpaw, and her ears flicked. deerpaw. her crush. forbidden crush! briarpaw blushed, and she looked away for a second before inhaling and exhaling, then standing up. slowly, she padded up to the older apprentice, tail flicking. “mornin’, deerpaw, an-anything goin’ on?” she squeaked once, on the word ‘anything’. she couldn't talk to deerpaw without any sort of squeak.
