Raggedstar looked at Asterpaw. "I want you to keep an eye on Rosepaw. I know I can trust you to do that." He flicked his tail to dismiss the apprentice before standing and stretching. He saw the patrol return and padded over to greet them, not paying any real attention to Bailey. He didn't even recognize her at first because he was so tired. "How'd it go on the patrol?" He asked, yawning.

Bailey stared at Raggedstar, mouth open. She wanted to say something to him, but nothing came out. The only thing she could do was open and close her mouth stupidly. She lowered her ears and backed behind the three other warriors when he didn't even cast a glance in her direction. What did I expect? It's been moons since I disappeared. Of course he wouldn't recognize me.

Fleetwind wanted to cuff Raggedstar the way she sometimes cuffed her son when he was being a mouse-brain. "Raggedstar, I would have thought you'd be more pleased with the results of our patrol. After all, it's not every day we bring home a long-lost clanmate." She mewed. "And while we were slow to recognize her, you of all cats should be the quickest to remember Snowpaw."

Raggedstar stopped mid-yawn at this news. "What?" He asked, now alert. He finally saw the white figure of his long lost best friend. He too was lost for words. "S-Snowpaw?" He asked, looking from Fleetwind to Bailey. "No, no, no, I'm hallucinating. I'm just tired," he muttered to himself. He tried to clear his mind but Bailey padded forward.

"Raggedpaw? Er, Raggedstar?" Bailey meowed, a smile creeping across her face. "Hi."

Raggedstar didn't know what to say. For so long he had been searching the borders for the white she-cat, with no luck. Now she was standing there, right in front of him. Something in his mind clicked and his expression cleared. "Snowpaw!" He cried and embraced her in the closest thing to a hug he could give without toppling them both over.

Bailey broke into a purr. They stayed there for a moment before she backed away. "Thank you, Fleetwind, Brambletail, Leopardheart," she meowed to the Warriors. "If it weren't for Brambletail recognizing me, I wouldn't be here."

Leopardheart smiled at Raggedstar softly, seeing how happy he was to seeing Snowpaw. "No problem, Snowpaw."

Fleetwind grinned, then her face fell a little. "Oh, yeah, Raggedstar, there's a little business. An intelligent predator bird may or may not know where our camp is- now, I think Snowpaw could tell you a little more about it, but I thought it was worth mentioning since it wounded Brambletail." she meowed more seriously.

Raggedstar frowned at this news. "A bird? Attacking a grown cat? How big is it?" He asked, looking at Bailey, seriousness on his face. An intelligent bird that attacks Warriors is no good news.

Bailey frowned. "About two times larger than a cat," she meowed.
"Where is it? Where did it go?"
"She's around here somewhere. In one of the trees."
Raggedstar was horrified. "It's near camp?"
Bailey got defensive. "But she's not here to harm anyone! She only hurt Brambletail because I told her to!"
"You told her to? You told her to??"
"She's my best friend! She practically raised me! And they refused to leave the bush so she got them for me. She didn't mean to hurt him."
"And what? Does she have a name too?" Raggedstar asked, sarcastic.
"In fact, she does! Her name is Adder and she can understand and speak in cat language!"
Raggedstar looked at the Warriors. "We need to find that bird."
Bailey was horrified. "No! Raggedstar, listen to me! She means no harm!"
Raggedstar glared at Bailey. "I will not compromise my clan's safety just because you're back! That bird attacked my Warriors and I will not let it attack any more!"
Bailey nearly cried. "Adder!" She screeched.
Raggedstar froze and looked to the skies, horrified to find out what would happen now.

Brambletail
Brambletail dipped his head. "It's fine." He meowed before freezing at her screech. He looked up at the trees, unsheathing his claws and tensing his muscles.

Ferngaze
Ferngaze let out a sigh as he accepted her apology. "Thanks Brambletail." She meowed before watching him leave. "Oh, bye!" She called after him before stretching and grooming her black and white fur.

Cloudpaw
Cloudpaw shook his head. "I haven't seen him at all today." He mewed before looking up at Smokestep then back at Rainpaw. "See ya!" He winked with a smile, watching her bound away.

Rainpaw
Rainpaw looked at Smokestep and Lochsong before sighing quietly. She looked at Lionpaw and just smiled. "Good luck." The apprentice mewed before turning and sitting down outside the apprentice's den.

Asterpaw had stayed close by, intending to give this 'Snowpaw' a check up when Raggedstar had the information he needed. Consequently he'd heard the whole conversation. He looked wide-eyed at Bailey and then Raggedstar. "Into the dens!" he yowled. He looked to Brambletail. "Into the medicine cat den, I need to see to that wound."

Moosepaw tensed, her eyes wide with fear at the cry for the bird. She was terrified of predator birds. "You can't just screech for that bird every time you don't get your way!" the frightened apprentice hissed fearfully at Bailey. Too scared to move, Moosepaw crouched down and huddled against the den wall. Her fur was fluffed up and her tail bushy.

"On second thoughts," Lochsong mewed as the commotion arose. "Maybe we should start with fighting." She gave Lionpaw a smile before she leaped into the middle of the camp and scoued the forest with her eyes, her claws out and muscles tensed as the fray rose around her.

Fleetwind's first instinct was to run, too, but when she saw that her sister was planning to fight, she couldn't not also fight. She ran forward, ignoring her sister's greeting and skidding to a halt with her eyes on the sky.

Smokestep's heart sank as her sister ignored her pleased greeting, but she hid it and kept watching the skies, speaking to Lionpaw. "You have strong warriors at your side, Lionpaw, but this is still your moment to show us what kind of a fighter you are."
