Fernstar listened intently to the tom as he tried to speak to her. What on earth could be making him so nervous? She leaned forward slightly, asking him what it was before an ear-splitting yowl interrupted her. The leader sprang to her paws, claws sliding out of their sheathes. "Daisytoes! Silentstream!" She yowled.

"Good job, Dustpaw. I know it's a bit strange but I'm sure you will get used to it in no time." The medicine cat knew how devastating it had been when he first lost his leg, but he wasn't missing out on much. "Don't worry about that, I can teach you everything I know, and I'm sure with that basic knowledge your regular mentor will be able to enhance it while still making it comfortable for you."

Juniperfrost smiled and a purr escaped her throat. "Thank you Blueheart. Although I would like them to know who their real father is, I'm sure they will see you as a great step-father." The queen returned his lick and smiled brightly. "I-I really care about you,"

"Yeah!" For once the stubborn apprentice agreed with the grumpy medicine cat. "Threeleg knows some basic hunting and fighting, especially since he had a few moons of apprentice training before his accident." Sparrowpaw reassured his friend. "Don't worry, you'll be a warrior with us!"

As Darkcloud headed to leave, he turned back to Rosedust. "We will need to work hard if we are to gain the trust of some of Fernstar's warriors. They have every right to be cautious, but we need to show them that we are thankful for everything they have done for us."

Daisytoes managed to catch her claws in the dogs upper lip, causing it to lit its head, pulling her upwards. She grabbed at the brute's face before sliding onto the ground. She tried to tell Silentstream to run again, but... she couldn't. The dog bit into her as Silentstream leaped at its shoulder. Surprised at Silentstream's attack, it left Daisytoes alone, turning to Silentstream and snarling before running away. Straight in the direction that Fernstar and Darkpelt had gone.

darkpelt smelt the dog before it came. "it's coming for us!" he whispered, before unsheathing his claws.

bloodwolf heard a bark, and followed the dog, leaving the kittypet with a simple, "don't stray too close." he saw fernstar and darkpelt talking, the darkpelt tense up when he smelt the dog.

moonflower curled her tail around the tiny kit. he was so much like his father - yet so much like herself at the same time. yet... he was deformed. the tiny tom's tail was cut short, his ears folded, his jaw crooked. "my baby... little ashkit..." she whispered. "you look so much like your father."

The leader growled and stepped in front of Darkpelt. "I'm willing to protect my Clanmates." She mumbled as the dog charged for them. The fae sprang at the brute as it headed for the two cats. She landed on its face, biting down hard on its ear. With a yelp, the dog continued running forward in an attempt to swat the she cat away. "Dark-!" Fernstar's yelp for help was cut short as the dog fell into the river, dragging the leader with him. Her eyes widened as she hit the freezing cold water, slowly sinking as the dog was carried downstream.

"fernstar!" he called, reaching out for her, his claws just brushing her pelt, before he was pulled back. at first, he thought it was by the dog, but within a split second, he had noticed the dog right behind fernstar. he turned, clawing at his attacker - bloodwolf.

the rogue tom had pulled him back, clawing at his tail until it was bleeding badly and broken. "not so fast. it's her time." he smirked. "last life." then, he vanished into the undergrowth.

once bloodwolf had gone, darkpelt immediately considered jumping into the river after fernstar, but he reconsidered. they'd both die. he ran down the riverside, getting ahead of her quickly, and reaching out for her, in the water.

Daisytoes lay where she had fallen, her breathing shallow. She remembered the soft nest she had in her twoleg's den, the way that she had pet her, fed her, and loved her. But she didn't regret leaving. Even if it meant she died here. Kittypet life lacked the vigor she had so needed. And even though she had only been with the clan for a short time, she was glad that she had that time. Slowly, Daisytoes allowed her eyes to droop.

nightlight wandered starclan, until she noticed a new star blooming, and went down to them. "daisytoes?" she asked. "welcome to starclan." it was obvious nightlight's once bright pelt was gradually fading.

darkepelt reached out for fernstar, pulling her onto the bank. "fernstar?" he asked, gently nuzzling her to see if she was ok.

(nightlight being a starclan cat is all I use her for now, so...)

The orange tabby shook her head, squinting at the faded shape above her. "...Who are you? How do you know my name?" Daisytoes questioned. Then her eyes widened. Nightlight had died about two moons after she had joined Cloverclan. "Nightlight! It's so good to see you again..!" The former kittypet purred. "But... how are you al-..." She paused when she noticed the stars shimmering in Nightlight's pelt, and it hit her like a rock. Nightlight wasn't alive. And neither was she. Daisytoes flattened her ears, but met Nightlight's gaze. "Is Silentstream alright? And Darkpelt and Fernstar? Oh, please tell me that dratted beast didn't get the camp..."
