Splintertail heard the leader's voice and padded over. "Arrival? How wonderful," he said with strong sarcasm. His eyes narrowed, he sat down with a scowl.

Apple glared at the tom "Isn't he just ppleasant" she grumbled.

"This is Splintertail, she told Apple , He's grumpy today, as always." she meowed before moving on.

Splintertail snarled at his leader's words. "I am not always in a bad mood. Everyone else is just in an exceptionally good mood." He bared his teeth, his tail twitching in annoyance.


Sagestep sat near the leader. "Welcome to the Clan," she mewed welcomingly. "My name is Sagestep, and I'm the medicine cat... so if you ever get injured or have an ache, you can see me."

"Thank you I'm Apple" the former loner told Sagestep then looked back at Splindertail, "Hmm not everyone is in a good mood" she mumbled.

"Grumpy." the she-cat thought. She then hopped on the rock in the middle of the clearing. "That everyone in the age of fighting comes here for an reunion of the clan!" NightStar meowed loudly. Then, more softly, "Come sit in front of the rock." she told Apple.

"Huh?" she-cat looked up from her mouse and walked over to the podium.

Sagestep dipped her head respectfully. "You will make a great addition to our Clan. May StarClan bless you." She stepped forward and laid her tail on the loner's shoulder. "I'm sure the other Clanners will enjoy your arrival." Leaning in, she whispered, "Maybe not Splintertail, though. He probably got his name because he always acts like he has a splinter stuck in his tail." Sagestep gestured towards where the leader ordered the new Clanner to sit.

Apple obeyed and sat in front of the rock. She received some strange looks from cats but her blue eyed gaze looked down at her paws nervously. 'What if they don't accept me' she thought
