The dark pelted medicine cat blinked her eyes open, stretching out her stiff muscles as she yawned. She looked over to her sleeping apprentice on the nest not far from her's. The young cat looked peaceful, she wouldn't wake her yet. Rising to her paws, she limped over to the fresh kill pile, selecting a mouse and laying down in the clearing.

Eaglefall woke with a start. He hated that habit of his, he wished he could just wake up normally. The tom stifled a yawn and rolled around the warrior's den accidentally bumping into Pebblefang. "Whoops, sorry," he whispered, not certain if he woke the warrior.

The air was warm as the apprentice stretched out on the edge of camp. His mentor wasn't awake yet, and he hadn't been given any orders yet, so he decided to have a relaxing morning.

As the morning sun filtered into his den, the thin-furred, long-legged brown tabby tom stirred in his nest. A Leaf-fall breeze carried delicate orange and red birch leaves into his den. He flicked a few from his paw before he rose and stretched with a grunt. Morning patrols needed to be organized. He blinked the sleep from his sharp pale green eyes and washed his face hurriedly before sliding outside his den. His den, unlike the others, was settled beneath a fallen birch tree, in which he addressed the Clan from. But he also used it to survey the prairie for any dangers lurking within the tall grass. He yawned, then leaped up onto the rotting long and sat up on his haunches, balancing carefully. Wind passed over the grass in waves. A pheasant descended into the grass, and he listened for its shrill call. But when nothing came, he dropped back onto his paws and looked over his camp to see who all was awake.

He spotted Droppedpaw's red fur and he flicked his tail in a silent greeting.
