Wings of Fire roleplay: Our Destiny (CLOSED)

[AGGUA!]

Reaper heard it in her mind, and he was shocked. It couldn't have been him. He knew about the prophecy, but he wasn't a part of it! If he had been, then he wouldn't have spent all those years wandering around, trying to find someone who would care about him. "Are you a prophet?" he asked, dumbfounded. "Were you the one who delivered the prophecy?" This isn't real. I'm not a part of it! Where would I fit in?

"What? No! Lightningtail did. And that sounded like her voice...."

[AGGUA!]

Reaper's eyes widened and a growl escaped his throat. Lightningtail? How could he NOT recognize her horrid voice? "You've gotta be kidding me," he said, his voice no longer friendly, but cold and hard as stone. "Lightningtail? That old coward? PLEASE don't make me laugh." But he didn't feel like laughing. He felt like crying. He knew Frost was part nightwing, and he didn't want her reading his thoughts. But he couldn't stop them from coming. She betrayed me. Left me. Wanted to KILL me. THAT was her promise to Queen Battlewinner. 'Kill the hybrid, and you'll have everything you've ever wanted...'

"............." Frost didn't read his thoughts, just to be nice.

[AGGUA!]

Reaper's claws gripped the sand, leaving long gouge marks, imagining they were Lightningtail's scales he was cutting into. "She betrayed me. All of my tribe betrayed me, but her betrayal was a real knife to the heart." He sealed his eyes shut, gritting his teeth. "At first I thought she was my friend. Then she, became, my, foe." He started sounding a bit crazy. "Oh-ho-ho, if she could see, me, now, I, swear..." He was aware that the dragons might see him as a threat, and then attack him again. But this was his cave. He could just as easily reopen the obelisk and let the guards in. All it took were a few small words...

Frost sighed. "Lightningtail wasn't the most trustworthy, I know. But she was the first one to accept me..."

[AGGUA!]

Reaper slammed his talons down onto the sand, which wasn't as satisfying because the sound didn't echo through the cave. "SHE'S LYING!!!" he screamed hysterically. "WE WERE FRIENDS!!! I KNOW WE WERE!!! THEN SHE WENT TO QUEEN BATTLEWINNER!!! SENT HER AFTER ME, TRIED TO KILL ME!!! I HAVE PROOF!!!" Reaper spread his wings, revealing a large black scar running down the base of his right wing, and another running down his left, partly cutting into the webbing (they aren't easy to see, especially when he keeps his wings tucked in) "A FLIGHTLESS DRAGON IS A DEAD DRAGON!!!" he roared. "SHE KNEW THAT, I KNOW THAT, YOU ALL KNOW THAT!!! AND WHEN SHE FAILED, I WAS OUTLAWED, AND NOW THE BLASTED FLAMEWINGS ARE AFTER ME, TOO!!!"

"Everyone has a destiny. Whether they like it or not." Frost narrowed her eyes. "I could be an evil dragon in disguise, but I would have killed you by now. We all have a part to play, whether in the prophecy or in everyday life."

[AGGUA!]

"Of course!" Reaper said, eerily cheerful. "Everyone has their own destiny to play, and it's all just part of one big fancy show, where the flamewings are the ones running it. Everyone's a puppet, with the flamewings in control of the strings." Reaper sighed. "But I can't be controlled. My strings are cut. Lightningtail was the one who cut them. I'll hate her for as long as I'm still walking the earth." He knew his outburst might even have been heard faintly by the guards that were, without a doubt, trying to get the obelisk to open. He wished he could take it back. He hadn't WANTED to be a hybrid. He just was. Was it really that wrong to be killed for it? Well, not for these guys, who couldn't do any wrong. Not for Frost.
