Bramblestorm looked at Icepath. "Everything's fine for me, but not with Ternpaw and Ashpaw. We were going to explain the situation to Ashpaw."

Ashpaw looked at her. "Sure, I'll tell you." He meowed. Wanting to change the subject, he asked. "Are you going to stay with the Clan?"

[Solanum]

Ternpaw didn't bother waiting for her mother, she was too far ahead anyway. She kept going, stopping to scent the air every so often. Her heart racing as she realised just how far he ran. "Ashpaw, please... Be safe." She sped up again, making herself streamlined to move even faster with less effort. "ASHPAW! Where are you..."

[Keriae]

Bramblestorm followed Ternpaw, soon catching up because of her longer limbs. "His scent is getting stronger. We are near." She carried on running and nearly tripped over her son.

[Solanum]

Ternpaw smothered him as soon as she saw him again. She nuzzled him affectionately, purring. "You could have hurt yourself. Ashpaw, please... Listen to what mother has to say."

[Keriae]

Ashpaw backed away. "I'll listen to Mother, not you." The gray tom turned to his mother. "What is it?"

Bramblestorm looked at him. "You must understand that I did it for the best, or she would have died. Ternpaw is not your sister. You are not related in any way. Ternpaw was born a loner, and I raised her as my own. She is not your littermate." She explained.

[Solanum]

Ternpaw blinked at her brother, waiting to see his reaction. "My own parents abandoned me... Probably because of my tail..." He flicked back her ears and looked at her stump of a tail, twitching it slightly just to point out it's uselessness.

[Keriae]

(I've just noticed! Both Ashpaw and Ternpaw have stumpy tails. What a coincidink.)

Ashpaw gasped. "So I'm not your brother?" He shook his head, confused. Then he turned back to his mother. "Does the Clan know?" He asked.

Bramblestorm shook her head. It was half a nod. "Snowstar knows. But that's about it."

Ternpaw stayed quiet, her gaze falling to her paws. She wasn't sure what to say to her brother. Now it was alright for her to love him, but would he return her affection? Probably not... She didn't deserve him...

[Keriae]

Ashpaw looked at his adopted sister. "Ternpaw, are you okay? I don't love you like proper love, I still love you as a sister, nothing else. I think my heart belongs to someone else." He shot a quick glance at Faith, hoping no one would see.

Ternpaw felt tears come back to her eyes. She turned and started to walk away. "How could you love her... You only met a less than a day ago!" She burst into a run, her eyes streaming. She ran across the border, not caring where she went. She wouldn't stay out there very long, just enough for her to think properly...
