Blackpaw looked at Shadowfrost in surprise. She quickly whipped to one side then to the other confusing the deputy. She then pounced onto the cat with a mighty leap.

|Patchpaw awoke. Today was the day of the Gathering! Patchpaw could not believe another moon had passed by so quickly. Hopefully Dreamcloud would tell Whitestar to bring her. She padded out of then den, and stopped at the stump the apprentices ate at. She picked out a magpie from the fresh-kill pile. Quickly eating it, she looked around for the other apprentices and her mentor.|

Shadowfrost rolled as the weight carried Blackpaw off her and held down her apprentice, who struggled to get up.

Blackpaw kicked her legs lightly at Shadowfrost. She kicked her off then Shadowfrost landed in the dirt. She then ran around Shadowfrost and leaped again tackling her.
