Blackpaw called over to Wrenkit. "Wrenkit aren't you supposed to be in the nursery? It's Newleaf! It's very snowy outside and you may catch a cold!" She laughed.

Wrenkit turned around and said, "I'm fine, I can handle it!" She was actually shivering, but she had a feeling she could handle it.. Maybe.

|Patchpaw followed Shadowfrost at his command from the flick of his tail. As they reached the edge of camp, Patchpaw took in the scenery. Everything was whiter, due to it being newleaf. Patchpaw continued walking, when suddenly she stiffened. She had picked up a scent. She looked over to Shadowfrost and Blackpaw. Had they smelled it too? She tried to identify the scent. It was definitely a cat, but not from Tideclan. Patchpaw struggled to remember the scents of the other clans that Dreamcloud had taught her, but this scent smelled like none of the clans she had smelled before. "Do you smell something?", Patchpaw inquired the others.|

Blackpaw picked up a scent too. It was a cat. It grew stronger. "I picked up a scent. Do you guys smell it too?" She whispered.

Shadowfrost gave a growl, "it's StormClan, Patchpaw go and bring more warriors, they have crossed the border."

Blackpaw was ready and prepared to fight these cats. She crouched down over a big lump of snow as she scented their leader, Blackstar and his deputy Scartail. She feared that clan but she didn't show it.

|Patchpaw's ears pricked up. Was there going to be a battle with Stormclan? As quickly as her paws could carry her, Patchpaw bounded over to camp. As she reached it, she headed towards the warrior's den. "Warriors of Tideclan" she yowled, with all the courage she could muster, Stormclan has been scented in our territory. Shadowfrost has instructed me to bring back warriors to our patrol. Who will come with us?" Patchpaw looked nervously around the crowd.

Blackpaw looked at Blackstar which was eating a mouse. "Hey, that's our prey!" She accidentally snarled. "oh, hello, my little kit, came back to me because you want to join my clan now?" The tom meowed looking impressed. "I was born in Stormclan but I will never join you and your pesky parade!" The young cat growled. "So be it," he said with a laugh. He unsheathed his claws and charged forward Blackpaw. Blackpaw ran away then stopped and then she charged at full might unleashing her claws whipping at her father, Blackstar.

Shadowfrost snarled and sprang at Blackstar, "stay away from my apprentice!" She hissed, her back arched and claws out.
