Wildfire followed close behind as they left the camp her ears perked and she opened her mouth to smell for nearby prey.

"Oh, of course." She smiled, flicking her tail and getting up once again. "Mind if I lead the way?" She had memorized where to find most of the herbs, to as far as her mind could be extended.

Smokestar nodded and fell in step behind the apprentice. Its odd, he thought as he walked, that she is my age and she still has her apprentice name, even if she isn't the main med cat yet.

Dappletail. She cat. Wildfire

Dappletail flicked her tail as she walked up beside Wildfire. "Over there," she meowed quietly as she tossed her head in the direction of a small shrew. She crouched down and slowly put her paws down on the sand. She slowly approached and when she was in range she sofa he and landed on its body. She quickly took its life and satisfied, padded back to Wildfire.

Wildfires ear turned a little and she turned around. Only a few fox lengths away a sparrow was pecking at the ground. She quickly but very quietly sneaked forward till she was only about a fox length away. She pounced far landing on the small bird, ten bit its neck. She then carries the limp bird back to Dappletail "These feathers will be perfect for new bedding." She mewed threw the sparrow in her jaw.

Kestrelpaw ducked beneath withered bushes, allowing the branches to poke at her sides. Then, they both finally emerged from the bushes and into a small area, surrounding by few Acadia trees still, but Marigold blossomed in groups, quite scattered. She smiled at the sight of them, then turned to look at Smokestar. "Take about a half-jaw full." She nodded, then padded over to pluck the Marigold from the ground.

"That's great!" Dappletail purred happily, dropping her catch, "I caught this." Suddenly she saw a huge shadow glide across the sand. She gazed in fear up at the sky and hissed, "eagle!" She grabbed her prey as fast as lightning and dashed under a large rock.

Wildfire let out a yowl then darted under a rock across from Dappletail. She tucked all her paws and her long tail in her ears going flat on he head as she watched the eagles shadow fly across the sand.
