"There it is!" The kit called out before racing towards the pond, almost falling into the water. Luckily, she managed to stop herself just at the edge of it.

"PidgeonKit! You need to be more careful!" PatchPelt scolded as she hurried over to the kit to make sure she was okay."I've told you before to be safe around the pond." The queen added after not spotting anything wrong with her kit.

ShadowKit
"Hey, wait!" ShadowKit called after PatchPelt before hurrying after the queen, bumping into the queen's tail."Oof!" The tom meowed as he stumbled onto his stomach.

╚════════════════════════════╝ minnowpool followed at shrikestorm's heals, stopping to scent the air occasionally. she strayed from the group slightly, smelling something out of the ordinary. she smelled stale fox, but also a hint of badger in the distance. her ears perked, trying to listen if it was really close to them. she padded back to the group, walking beside shrikestorm. "I smell badger.." she whispered to him.

Shrikestorm hissed quietly. "Go back to camp as quickly as possible and get help." He padded over to where Minnowpool had come from and scented the air. There was definitely a badger scent, and it was fresh. He let out another quiet hiss before heading back to the patrol. "Stay calm," he announced to the patrol. "There's a badger nearby. Minnowpool's going to go get help from camp, but we need to remain quiet and calm."

A badger?! Bitternpaw gasped loudly and his fur lifted up along his spine. "What if it comes this way?" he asked aloud, mostly to himself. He paced the space in between two trees nervously.

Wolfpaw was always a dare devil. She sniffed around, sniffing for where the badger was exactly. Slowly, little by little, she started moving away from the patrol. She was following the badger scent. Her tail was going crazy behind her.

"You too, ShadowKit. You need to be more careful." PatchPelt meowed to the tom, picking him and placing him beside PidgeonKit."Now both of you, drink up." The queen meowed, waiting for the kits to finish their drink.

PidgeonKit
PidgeonKit tapped the water with her paw to see the circles before starting to gulp up the cool pond water. After all that running, a nice drink was well-deserved.

ShadowKit
ShadowKit nodded upon his mother words before lowering himself to the pond, starting to drink up.

"Wolfpaw!" Bitternpaw hissed as he followed the other apprentice. "We need to stay with Shrikestorm and the others!" He sniffed the air and swung his head around nervously. "Come on! That badger'll crush you!"

╚════════════════════════════╝ minnowpool nodded briefly at the deputy, hurrying off and screwing up her face at the smell of mangy badger. she completely despised when things like this happened. it was just annoying and she was noticing that there were more and more predators venturing closer to camp. as she hurried closer to the bustling camp, she noticed that the smell of badger was getting stronger, not staler. she hissed, stopping for a moment to check her surroundings. she turned around, hesitantly retracing her steps. perhaps there were multiple badgers?

Wolfpaw ignored the apprentices warning. "Maybe if I find it, it will save the others time and worry. They don't know where it will come from so they're scared of where it will pop up. If I find it before that happens, I'll be helpful!" She said hopefully, continuing to sniff.

"It'll smell you and attack you!" Bitternpaw pleaded. "Come back, please! It's safer with Shrikestorm." He dashed in front of Wolfpaw, blocking her from moving forward. "Let's go back."

While the kits drank, PatchPelt could smell a strange scent. It was familiar, but since the queen hadn't scent it in a long while, she couldn't regonize. Yet, just to be safe, she started to nudge her kits away from the pond."We have to get going now. No staying behind." She meowed in a stern tone, starting to lead the way away from the water source.

PidgeonKit
The kit had bearly managed to get enough water when she could feel PatchPelt's nose nuding her."What? Why?" The kit questioned while following after her, having to move alot faster than usual to keep up.

ShadowKit
ShadowKit gave a confused look towards the queen before following the order, starting to hurry after his sibling and mother. ShadowKit also had the same questions as PidgeonKit - the three had just gotten here after all.
