Nathan woke up to his alarm clock blaring loudly. He groaned, cracked open his eyelids and peered at the digital face - he was late. Shooting out of bed, he raced into the bathroom and took a quick, cold shower. After changing into his standard jeans and white button-down and rolling up his sleeves, he slipped on a pair of black rubber mucking boots. Nate clonked down the stair flights in a race to get to Rye before he started freaking out about being in his stall too long. Reaching the barn, he saw plenty of faces still tending to horses - a few stablehands, Rave, Brooke.. Brooke! He cupped a hand behind his neck, quietly as possible scooped up some feed and dumped it into the green bucket; stroking Rye's neck absentmindedly while looking outside. He wasn't late, but reminded himself to reset his clock when he was back to his dorm.
Rye awoke to a sunrise, watching the pinky-orange streaks raise into the sky and form the actual sun. Hearing footsteps, he turned around, hoping for Nate, but only Raven and Brooke came into view. Giving a snort of a sigh, he waited for the half hour of his owner's absence in hope he'd show soon. As Nate came into his view, he tossed his head in a greeting. Giving a content whinny at the grain in his feed bucket, he munched happily as Nathan patted his neck.
