"I bet, but practice makes perfect." Philomena said, shrugging. She lifted off again, giving the owlets some downdraft. "That should be better. Try taking off from one of the perches, maybe just try to glide. It does help but you have to have strong wings." she said, landing on one of many stone perches.

Dusk:: Great Grey
He sighed. How were they supposed to get on the perch when they couldn't fly??!?! Dismissing the thought, he tried climbing with his beak and claws, wedging them into the cracks in the rock. Surprisingly, it worked. He peered down from the ledge. Taking a deep breath, he jumped off, spread his wings, and struggled to stay upright. Then, the lead feather on his right wing dipped down a bit too much, dragging the rest of the wing down, causing him to lose balance and crash. Bruised, but not discouraged, he tried again and this tine was able to land/skid to a stop on the ground.

Shard spread his wings and pumped them down hard to take off. He looked up at a ledge several feet above his head and grunted, flapping as hard as he could. 'I will make it to that ledge. I will make it!' He thought. He pumped his wings as hard as he could, somehow managing to curl his wing tips in until they almost met. After several moments, he finally made it to the ledge and latched onto it, panting for breath slightly.

Meka sighed. "Okay then, Philomena. Do you want to teach them?" the older owlet said, flying up to land on a perch easily. "You see? Now." he pointed with his talons from where they were now to another perch, a little lower down and a little far away. "Try to sort of, glide to branch. You shouldn't need to take many wing-flaps." he chuckled. "Except for you Peek. It might be a bit harder." He unfolded his wings, getting ready to take off. "Try to copy me." he said softly, lifting off and gliding to the ledge, only taking a tiny flap that no one could see. He landed without a sound and turned back to the others. "Think you can do that?"

Peek copied Dusk, climbing onto the ledge. It took a bit longer, and a little more energy, but when she made it she was happy. Until Meka said that it might be harder for her. She tried to copy Meka, but waited for the others to go before she went.

Dusk nodded. He leaned forward and opened his wings, holding them steady but flexible. He made it w with a couple of flaps, but in all was pretty good.

Shard watched Dusk make the trip and cheered, "Good job Dusk! Okay, here I come!" He stepped to the edge, spread his wings and did a sort of hop off the ledge. This one was much easier for him and he did it beautifully. Landing on the lower ledge with hardly a flap, he turned his head around and called up, "Come on Peek, you can do it! I know you can!"

"Well, just trying to help." she said, smiling sheepishly. She watched the owlets for a bit, letting them just teach themselves. She looked out in the sky. "I just hope those winds kick up soon!" she said, knowing about some weather. "That'll be a big help, it'l lead us straight to Ga'hoole..." she said, lost in her own thoughts for a while. Philomena looked back at the owlets. She then looked back at the night sky. She thought for a second then settled down.

Meka smiled as Dusk and Shard made it across. "Great job, but wait till we get to the harder parts." He looked back at Peek. "Come on, it doesn't matter if you a few falls, it's your first time!" he tried to sound encouraging, but found he could only sound a little excited.

Peek nodded nervously as Shard yelled encouragingly, and Meka sounded bored. She hopped from one foot to the other, like Shard did, spread her wings slightly, as Meka did, and took off like Dusk did. She tried to glide, but she got lower and lower because of her tiny wingspan. She tried to flap, but one wing she accidentally flapped before the other, and ended up doing a loop, then lost control and fell to the ground. She landed with an; "Ahh!"
