"I'm pretty sure it's more than just belief," Shard murmured as he stretched out his wings for a moment.

Meka squirmed. "Then why don't you try? Follow me." he hesitated before asking; "Have any of you branched?"

Peek shook her head when Meka asked the question. "Never."

Dusk:: Great Grey
” Well, we sorta got snatched before we could do any branching...”

"Actually, I've done a bit of branching, but not much. I sort of just started," Shard replied, correcting Dusk.

Philomena snuck over to the younger owlets training. "So you want to learn to fly?..." she said, tilting her head. "The pure ones taught me. And, yes you do need to believe but a very important thing to know is that you have to shape the air. Right now it has no shape." she said, taking off. She had to use some powerful wing beats to get off the ground, but eventually did. "And ground takeoff takes lots of energy young'ns." she said, trying to give some shape to the air so it would be easier. She glided down. "But more important, you have to feel it with your gizzard." she said, smiling lightly.

Dusk:: Great Grey
”Shape it. Technically, air is a gas...” He dropped off. He tried curling his wings inward when flapping hard. He fell aster half a foot. He sighed sadly.

"Feel it with my...gizzard....okay," Shard murmured to himself as he took a few steps away from the others. Spreading his wings, he flapped hard, getting himself about a foot off the ground then he seemed to falter.

"Come on, you gotta believe! Feel it in your gizzard!" She said, determination in her voice. "I know it may seem hard but we don't have the luxury of branching anymore." she said, flapping her wings and flying above them. "You need to curve your wings, almost till your feathers meet." she said, demonstrating. "And the hard part is taking off. You have to flap pretty hard to take off." she said, landing by them. "It'll be hard work young'n, but it's worth it, oh it really is." she said, smiling.

Dusk:: Great Grey
He nodded, a look of utter determination coming over his face. With all the strength in his body, he jumped up and flapped downward. He lifted a foot off the ground. Dusk tried to recover quickly, but wobbled and fell. ”After lifting off, please.”

"Curl....my feathers...." Shard panted out as he tried to do as Meka said. However, he couldn't quite get it to work. He fell back to rock ledge, screeching as he impacted the hard ground with a thud. Coughing slightly, he said, "That's a lot easier said than done."
