"Close enough." Venus giggled. She turned her head to normal position and stood up straight, flicking the tuft of her tail. Her emerald eyes sparkled majestically. "Nothing much, just got back from border check." she replied to his question, shrugging.

Jace smiled slightly at what she told him and nodded, shrugging. "Yeah, I figured..." he glanced around noticing, not many others were awake. "Im guessing it went well?" he questioned, his voice low yet not dull enough. {aahh fail post XD}

Venus nodded lightly, her ears slightly flopping as she relaxed the muscles, letting them fall. She then nodded again at his second question. "I... Guess..." she hesitated, remembering Saramba's hurtful words. Should she tell Jace? After a moment of silent, she decided she should. "Except... My-My brother, Saramba... He... He said some hurtful things..." she said, clearing her throat and pushing back the tears. Luckily, she'd caught them in time, before they turned into actually brimming tears. "Mostly about how I'm not 'responsible' enough. And about how I 'shouldn't trust so easily.'" Venus sighed, looking at Jace, her eyes shimmering. "I'm pretty sure he was talking... About you..." she said, lowering her voice. "He doesn't think I should trust you." she said with a slight growl. "He thinks that I'm not 'fit' to be the leader..."

((Soooo sorry guys, my daughter has been sick, she usually goes to bed around 6pm so I have time to rp at night, but recently she's been staying up until midnight x_x))

Jax followed Venus towards the dens, eyes flickering over each of them, and his heart pumping a little quicker again as she invited him to share the den with her. His wide, unabashed smile returned, but his precious time with the lioness was cut off as she had to attend to other matters.

Savoring her scent that lingered around his muzzle from the flirtatious tail tuft gesture, he pranced in the direction of her den like a lovesick puppy. But he knew that he wouldn't be the only one chasing after her, and he definitely didn't want to cause any problems on his first night as a member of the pride, so instead of going into her den, he padded to a soft, plush area of grass beside the flowers and dropped to his haunches. Taking in another deep breath of the scents around him; the flowers, the fresh air, her sweet scent lingering around the mouth of the den; and lowered slowly to his belly, resting his head between his front paws and allowing his eyes to close, a soft smile still present on his muzzle.

Oh yes, it was love at first sight.

((Aww <3 I can't post 'til Fire does. I'm only posting right now 'cause I should be asleep (School tomorrow x-x) but I can't due to a severe gut ache. Parents are asleep, so I can't complain to them...))

((Aww. Take a tylenol? I have school (college) in the morning too, but I know that my baby is going to wake up (I heard her coughing a few minutes ago) and it'll just be torture if I fall asleep and she wakes up crying 5 minutes later..))

Jace could already feel a colder growl edging up his throat but he stopped himself and swallowed. Sighing, Jace just sort of knew this was coming. He knew that eventually he'd have to face the fact that he couldn't be trusted- and he knew it. He really didn't know what to say to this beautiful lioness, with the beautiful voice, and great personality- and then there was him. An aggressive, cold, sarcastic, thinks less of himself, low on life, always down, lion who shouldn't have even been alive. Or so he thought.
"Venus. I'm sorry" he said plain out. He didn't know what else to say. "I'm sorry for--being here. You don't deserve to trust someone like me...There's so many others that are better...Sorry" He sighed deeply and glanced at the ground. This large, muscular lion, standing in front of this beautiful lioness. "Maybe...He's right. I can't even trust myself anymore..." he sighed his eyes flashing to her for a moment before he looked down again.

Venus looked surprised. "Jace, you can be as sorry as you want for being here, but that will never change how horrible I'd feel if you weren't. I don't care who trusts you, I trust you." she said strongly. She set her paw gently atop his. "Don't leave just because of what Saramba thinks. I couldn't be happier that you're here right now." she said, her voice barely louder than a whisper. She wouldn't just let him be steered by Saramba's comments; What did she care that he didn't trust Jace? Why should she care that he didn't like Jace? She trusted Jace, and liked him, a lot, and wasn't about to let him leave because one stupid lion didn't like him.

"Because I trust you, I love the fact that you're here right now, I couldn't be happier that I met you, and I care about you..." she whispered, her emerald eyes glittering. "Wouldn't you find my opinion more important than that over-protective Saramba?" she asked, her voice still quiet. She didn't wait for an answer, her voice quiet as the soft flowing breeze, but sweet and caring and concerned.

"Why do you think I didn't want to let you leave when we first met? Why do you think I showed you all those places I've never shown anyone in my life? Why do you think I'm standing here right now giving you as many reasons as possible not to leave?"

Shaking his head slightly, Jace glanced up at her again, his golden eyes piercing hers. "But I'm not....Venus I'm not always like this. Sometimes I can't control myself. If I end up killing someone, what then? I feel like i'm not worth trusting- but I know I can...change-I know I can be better- and I am. Just haven't found myself yet I guess...." he shrugged slightly Narrowing his eyes, angry with himself. Why did he just tell her that? Why did he just tell her that he could change? That, that aggressive lion wasn't really aggressive? he just had a bad past? Why?

"Sorry Venus. Lost myself there for a moment..." he shook his head, his past flashing back to him. Why did she care so much about him? Was he really worth caring for that much? "Venus Why do you care?" Jace added straight forward and glanced up at her shrugging slightly. Why did she care? Why? Why was the only thing going through his mind at the moment. {aaah fail post XD}
