Stonefur's thoughts were interrupted as Wintersong hissed out. He looked at Wintersong, his tail lashing in worry.
"What'll happen if she goes on like this forever?" He padded up and sat down next to Wintersong. "Calm down, you'll wake the entire nursery like that. The leader is the leader.. I can't believe it either, but he's made his choice and left."

Wintersong took a deep breath and sighed, laughing softly "I guess your right" she murmured "I probably shouldn't get mad over such a thing either" she sighed then turned to him, her eyes pleading "You don't think she's trying to replace me do you?" Wintersong whispered quietly, sadness lacing her voice "Berrystar I mean, do you think she's trying to tell me she'll be removing me of my rank and giving it to one of them?" she asked helplessly, getting anxious and paranoid.

Lilypaw nodded "I guess she does have her reasons" she agreed "They arn't bad warriors either, I guess they could easily fit into the warrior schedule" she thought for a moment "I think Wintersong will find a way to give them warrior duties and fit in some training, not as if they are apprentices though of course because that would just make them feel, well, left out I guess" She ranted.

Berryleaf gave a soft sigh and a single nod of his head. "I hope you are right. I just worry that when Pinestar put the two in charge that did not create a sense of rivalry in Winterstong. It won't do any good to have her trying to prove she is worthy of her position all the time now." The tom rested his tail on Lilypaw's shoulder in a gesture of comfort after he spoke.

Lilypaw sighed "I guess it would make sense if she did, Pinestar kind of told her 'These two will be deputy while I'm gone because I trust them more'" she muttered "I wouldn't like it if you chose two apprentices to look after and care for a wounded cat in the den and left me to collect moss and be useless, I guess" she gazed sheepishly at her Mentor "I bet I would be better at caring for a wounded cat than any apprentice" she grinned.

"Thats not exactly what I meant." Berryleaf said, "I'm concerned she might punish them for what Pinestar did. Push them too hard maybe. Or be angry at them." The medicine cat looked off the the side before he continued to speak. "I'm likely overthinking things but still. And I know you would be better than any of the other apprentices at doing your job." Although his tone was not necessarily a reassuring one, Berryleaf was indeed making an attempt at soothing any worries Lilypaw might have about her position.

She looked down "I wouldn't be surprised if she did, but I don't think she would take out her anger on the two, also they were put in charge by Pinestar, it wasn't exactly their decision" she mumbled "But I can't say for sure" she sighed

The tom gave a nod, returning his gaze to his apprentice. "I suppose all we can do now is wait then." Berryleaf murmured. He curled his tail around his paws and studied Lilypaw curiously, "She is your sister. How are you? Wintersong didn't take any of this out on you did she?" He had left the meeting before it was resigned, even before he was able to witness Wintersong's strong negative reaction.

Lilypaw gave her mentor a reassuring look "Wintersong may get angry, but she's a real softy.. Sometimes" she murmured "I know she wouldn't take it out on me, I just tend to avoid her when she's angry" she sighed "I don't really like being around her when she's angry because her emotions seem to have an effect on my own mood" she told him softly

"Im sure she wouldn't replace you, Wintersong. You are a strong and reliable warrior, after all." He purred.

Wintersong's tail swayed softly "I guess" she sighed then turned to glare softly at the new warriors "I sure hope they don't think their replacing me" her hiss was mellow, but she was beginning to wonder if they would think they were superior to the other cats now.
